I want to get in a plug for our facebook page... https://www.facebook.com/AkronZipsTailgaters We started this last August & for about a year, we had only 13 "likes". This summer that count rose to 46 likes. The page is a work in progress and will only get better with more involvement from Zips fans. It is a format that can reach a great number of people through the News Feeds of people who like and share posts made on the page. So, if you are on Facebook, please give us a like. Post a picture or two of your crew having fun at the games. If you are not a facebook person or if you want to keep your anonymity, you can sign up for a facebook account with your zn.o screen name. For example: First name-Captain Last name-Kangaroo With the excitement surrounding the Michigan game, the reach of the page was 507 people. Pretty good for only showing up in 46 News Feeds. Also, for those of you not on facebook, you can like all the Akron Athletic pages and recieve updates. Try it. You might like it. Thanks for your time.

Missed it! Where's the podcast link?!

We all see Terry signaling the plays. ZG is assuming he is calling them as well. If Milwee was calling the plays, Dalton Easton or Tommy Woodson could signal them in, right? Why would Terry signal in plays someone else is calling? I don't know the answer, just asking the question.

My little tailgating group contributed the following: Fat Heads Oktoberfest Fat Heads Oompa Loompa Fat Heads Spooky Tooth Sun King Osiris Pale Ale Sun King Sunlight Cream Ale 3 Floyds Brian Boru Irish Red Sierra Nevada Pale Ale Triton Railsplitter IPA Triton 4-Barrel Brown Four Horsemen Nugget Head Hoppy Wheat Shiner Oktoberfest Leinenkugel's Hoppin' Helles Atwater Detroit Pale Ale Great Lakes Nosferatu Bell's Porter Topping off the list, a Michigan fan brought over Dragonmead Final Absolution from a growler. I did not try this, but ZipGrad01 said it was legit.

I went to our County Fair today and saw all kinds of people I hadn't seen since last year's fair. Everybody wanted to talk about the game and I guess I'm just not quite ready to talk about it because I felt like I was punched in the gut every time somebody brought it up. What an outstanding effort and not at all flukey. Our guys went toe to toe for 60 minutes. I certainly hope this difficult loss cranks up the intensity level another notch for ULL because we are going to need it. These Cajuns ain't no joke. Everybody get to the Info on Saturday and bring a friend or two with you.

If anyone is looking to tailgate, we have 4 carloads at the Ann Arbor Golf Course. Enter off East Stadium Avenue and come up the hill. Can't miss us. Zips flags are flying.

What's with all the venom being spat in the general direction of the Great One these days? Sheesh. -

Who's going to Ann Arbor? When do you plan to arrive? Do you plan to tailgate? How many are coming with you? We are getting there early. It looks like the tailgate lots open at 6. We will be there. Looks like Pioneer High School & AA golf course are promising spots. They are $40-50 to park there. I am bringing along one friend with me and hope to arrange a rendezvous so all of us can get together (at least for a short period) before/after the game. Go Zips!

Excellent suggestion.

Well, I wasn't going to speak for him, but I also saw him drinking an I.C. Light "Pirates Edition". I will add these two. What else did you have ZipsWin!? CK, I was going through my cap cup when I got home when saw Cellar Rats and Avery & wondered who drank those. Now I know!

Zips tailgaters, how do these quotes from the JMU message board make you feel? Makes me feel sad because I know it's true. We have such a long way to go. Our small tailgating group is full of great people, we just need a couple thousand more.

Not a fan at all. I maybe could gave felt indifferent toward the change if it was just the zipper, but the fight song lyrics have got to go. Turrible.
-
No, but I like it.

Defensive backs that look back for the ball. Receivers that get open. Kickoff return teams that realize the ball is live.

I have thought about this a lot and you are right. Only post beers that you drank while at the tailgate. The only exception to this rule would be a side excursion to a local bar for some goodies as part of the pre/post game celebration. (I am mostly thinking this for away games. I think a stop at Bells in Kalamazoo or Jackie O's in Athens, etc. should count if you are there tailgating for the Zips game) Thoughts?

Forgot to add these for GoZips19: Lagunitas Little Sumpin Sumpin Southern Tier Pumking Left Hand Milk Stout Nitro Sierra Nevada Hoptinum Oskar Blues Dales Pale Ale Sol

Just got done unloading the car from yesterday. We are going to try an abbreviated set up at Ann Arbor and see if it works a little better for us. Adding television back into the mix made our day a little less enjoyable as we were trying to cook while on the phone to Dish Network technical support. We started cooking breakfast at quarter til 9, grilled peppers at noon, and never got to fixing the bacon pulled pork cheeseburgers or the potatoes & onions. Too much to do. Too many people to talk to. Too many trips walking across campus to the Roo Walk and other tailgating lots. So I think we are going to cut out cooking and just grab something from a restaurant when we get hungry. Going to try this strategy for the Michigan game & see how it works. Now on to the beer. The following came from our cooler: Sixpoint Sweet Action Thirsty Dog Citra Dog Troegs Nugget Nectar Sweetwater Blue Oskar Blues Ten Fidy 3 Floyds Gumballhead 3 Floyds Apocalypse Cow Triton Sin Bin Triton Deadeye Stout Bell's Java Stout Green Flash Double Stout Tyranena Stone Tepee Pale Ale Tyranena Rocky's Revenge Brown Tyranena Bitter Woman IPA Tyranena Headless Man Amber Tyranena Chief Blackhawk Porter Boulevard Pale Ale Boulevard Bully! Porter Boulevard Dark Truth Stout Old Milwaukee Light It was a great day for sharing! Dr. Z hooked me up with 3 Floyds Artic Panzer Wolf and Alpha King. I was able to sample some great Anderson Valley Summer Solstice Ale. Probably the best part was our nightcap when the 3 year old bottle of Mad Elf was finally opened to celebrate the victory! It tasted sweet. Thanks to all the tailgaters that make going to the games so much fun. We have to make sure we find each other next Saturday!

Everyone not here tailgating is missing out. What a beautiful day!
