  1. An hour later and I can't get one hell yeah? Maybe the JMU board is right. Maybe Zips fans are a bunch of lame asses. I am talking about the Zips opening up a can of whoop ass on the Dukes. Now come on Zips fans! It's only 8 letters and a space. Nine small keystrokes.
  2. Stand up & be counted! The home opener is tomorrow! I am ready to witness the total destruction of JMU.
  3. Sounds like a gig for retired teachers. Collect your pension and put in 25 hrs. a week at the U. Stress free beer money if you ask me.
  4. Paul Winters reflects
  5. Mostly beery with scattered foodgasms.
  6. I really hope the new helmets have the Z on the side. I think we should use the Z a lot more and the A logo less.
  7. There is a lot of activity on the JMU board and very little respect for the Zips. While browsing, I ran across this depressing thread: http://csnbbs.com/showthread.php?tid=647417 Do you think we are really paying that much?
  8. I agree, but a bet a few wins brings back the "Old Terry". @Lee Adams Coach Bowden as much as said JC7 is on notice. The coaches have "worked with him and worked with him". That sounds like he needs to be a disciplined runner (now) or they will play a less talented, but more disciplined runner, no? I would imagine it's probably real hard for a coach to have to finally sit a kid with that kind of talent, though.
  9. If you are in town early Friday, I would suggest you go to Swenson's for a burger. Pretty legendary place for Akronites. http://www.swensonsdriveins.com/ Some others would suggest Skyway for a burger. http://skywaydrive-in.com/ If you are a craft beer drinker, I highly recommend going to the Hoppin Frog tasting room. Great beer. Food, not so much. http://www.hoppinfrog.com/tasting-room/ Thirsty Dog is an early option. Tasting room open until 8 on Friday. http://thirstydog.com/news/retail-sales.php OBC's tasting room is open one hour later until 9. http://ohiobrewing.com/taproom Some downtown bars you might want to hit: http://www.brubakerspub.com/ http://www.69taps.com/akron/ http://www.barleyhouseakron.com/ http://thelockview.com/ Right across from the stadium are Manny's, BW-3, Europe Gyro & Pints. For gameday, you have to come tailgate with the Zips fans.
  10. Perhaps you haven't heard, but our fan base does not imbibe this Mad Dog of which you speak. Tsk! Tsk!
  11. It's a must win. I have been looking forward to this Saturday since March. I started counting down the days at 100 left. I came to some practices to try and satisfy my football fever. I bought a new generator, satellite & tv for tailgating. I have my plans set to travel to Ann Arbor, Bowling Green & Oxford. My spare fridge is full of singles for the 2013 beer challenge and I mean full. I am planning on making some food so delicious that Guy Fieri would give me the old "I surrender, mouth-full fist bump". I am going to march my ass down to the Roo Walk and cheer these boys off the bus. Last Thursday is forgotten. The anticipation is at a fever pitch. C'mon Zips! YOU CAN DO IT!
  12. In the 2011 thread, there were some exceptions made for out of towners: http://zipsnation.org/forums//index.php?s=...st&p=151305 I am perfectly fine with these rules applying to away games as well, but we need a ruling from CK.
  13. I'll take 45-17 ALL DAY LONG. Go Zips! Also, as far as Chisholm goes, for a guy who has come very close to reaching 1000 yards each of his first two seasons, he has his fair share of detractors. Bear in mind though, the criticism didn't start with his performance last Thursday. I believe it started with the 2011 Miami game (if I'm not badly mistaken) and resurfaces intermittently. Jawon can help his reputation if he would run north/south and stay in bounds. I hope the light bulb switches on for him. I think he can be as good as he wants to be.
  14. Mean Machine
  15. Zach, I appreciate your optimism and I certainly hope you are correct in your analysis. A big shake up in the 2 deep might just wake up some people. It certainly seemed like some folks down the depth chart want to play harder than some ahead of them. Coach Bowden has said numerous times how important competition for playing time is. Shake it up!
  16. The 2013 list has begun!
  17. I am bringing a wide selection of beers for Saturday and, by special request, I will be making pulled pork bacon cheeseburgers. It would be great if some of you who were in Orlando would start out the beer list already!!!
  18. I agree, for the most part, but I would also mention Nico Caponi, Dylan Evans & Zach Paul. Anybody know what's up with D'Orazio? Didn't hear his name called all night. The Zips really need a guy to replace Suel over the middle.
  19. I bet driving cars like on the Jetsons is cool too, though.
  20. I'm off the ledge now. It's just so disappointing to see all the pre-season hope get torn asunder before we even get to September. I guarantee the tailgating will deliver, though. Guaran-damn-tee.
  21. I see they have a guy named Travis Greene who can run the ball and a quarterback named Matt Johnson who put Schilz on the bench and a defense that held the C-USA Champion Tulsa Golden Hurricane to 7 points in a beatdown in week one.
  22. I can agree with you that the season can be salvaged. All is not lost, but that doesn't ease the sting of really hoping to see a Zips team that could compete in some way, shape or form against UCF. It was embarrassing. I will be tailgating at sunrise on the morning of September 7, but the buzz has been killed.
  23. I think he meant UCF vs. NIU in Dekalb.
