I've been sleeping on this... Who hires a head coach and GM before there is even a team? I think the more I hear about this venture the more doomed it becomes. I never saw it happening and I really don't see it now!

At least its a evenly distributed schedule this year. I could get used to coming down every other week... Lets see if the Browns can filter in on the Zips away weeks schedule...is that too much to ask?

How about something almost double the size (6000 seats) of the Covelli Centre in Youngstown?

Cincy, Did you get any pictures? When is construction set to begin? Did they mention anything about the closed end sinking? Will they tarp it? Will they give tours? Is there anything left of worth for a man-cave lets say? lol

There are certainly trees growing up through the cracks. You can even see them in the summer when you drive by on Triplett BLVD. They are skinny maples...

1. The league has a deal in place with a real estate company to build housing and a Stadium in 5 of 8 markets. 2. They looked into renting the Info, but UA officials demanded that they ran, and in turn, got all concession profits.

If you read the article, you will see that the league is building stadiums and going to provide housing for its players/ coaches. Correct me if I am wrong but didn't the UA players hate the Rubber Bowl because it was so far away from campus? There is no place to build housing close to the bowl here so history will repeat itself. Also, if the league is building new state of the art stadiums how in the world can Akron compete? No matter what you do to the 75 year old Rubber Bowl it isn't going to be a nice, new, attractive 20,000 seat venue! I see this a giant epic fail long before it ever begins!! Sad! I was really hoping to go and sit in "my" seats again!

Back in November the gate was wide open for a number of days! It appears that a number of people got in! I saw it open twice and once i later saw a huge man door open about 3 feet. I know a buddy who went in and got pictures of the mess throughout. Plus he got to sit in his "seat" one last time!

The place needs completely revamped. All places (locker rooms, restroom, press box, etc) have been (completely) destroyed by vandals. If the place was considered a dump before.... I don't know how to classify it now. Most of the bleachers are cracked (more-so now) some are even broken off and or missing. I just don't see them being able to fix it up by start of the league in 2014 even if they started today!

Great for Luke! He will no doubt beat us in the future! That however will not ever change the fact that Luke had one of the greatest years in Zips history!

But hey, if we can get past 2013 we have to play @Penn St. and Pitt! Glad to see it will be easier down the road!

I think he is a good coordinator...Just as Pat Shurmur is a good coordinator. He certainly is not a good head coach. I just would like to see what he can do with the Zips in 2-3 years of coaching them. Now that he can insert some of "his" guys in lets see what the Chest can do. I dont think he doesn't relate to the players. I am thrilled to have Buckley as part of the staff...did the DB's have a great year.... no way, but does that make Buckley a bad coach? Jury is still out on him I suppose, but I know there is onlt one way for the defense as a whole to go ....and I for one would like to see it happen with Amato manning the ship.

Or relating it to football... The Zips vs. anyone in D1 lol

Could the fact that Amato is interviewing around be part of the reason TB gave up his OC duties so he could pay more attention to the defense? Hmmmmmmm
