  1. Should we be jealous, or even worried that we only have 2 non conference games scheduled for 2018? 2018 Sept. 1 at Nebraska Sept. 22 at Iowa State 2019 Aug. 31 at Illinois Sept. 7 UAB TBA TROY 2020 Sept. 12 at UAB Sept. 19 at Clemson 2022 Sept. 24 at Appalachian State
  2. Chargers will be coming to Cleveland next year.... Let's support Jatavis!
  3. a-zip thank you for being an athletic supporter of the Zips! Ummm that just doesn't sound right! haha
  4. When might we hear something? By Sunday night I would hope.???
  5. I don't want to sound like a bad person but, I didn't learn anything from this. Is he healthy? Is he ready to go? What is the prognosis? Come on, I need more than this!
  6. Let's not forget that JT33 also played basketball during his freshman season to help out a very, very bad team. How many guys could do that today? Very proud to be a Zip!
  7. This was of course before the greatest 6 week run of any MAC QB in recent history took over. And Ibrahima..... there/they're....really????
  8. No worries just an old saying from "The Ghoul" a local horror host if you don't know the name.
  9. Balsy.... are you plunking the magic twanger in anticipation of the upcoming schedule? In other words.... can we expect to see a projection this year? One of my favorite posts of the year by the way!
  10. I actually have Browns season tickets, buit have elected to spend time with my family on Saturday. Go Browns and Go JB!
  11. Any word on whatever happened with this guy?
  12. Tonight on his show, Steve French said he believes Warren Ball and Lawrence were injured and he thinks they could be out significant time. Anyone heard anything on this? if so, this changes things....a lot in my opinion.
  13. I have noticed a huge upswing especially on Twitter. I saw on July 4th weekend they offered 4 season tickets for the price of 2. I replied to them and said they were stabbing longtime STH's in the back and they replied back with they are just trying to reach out to get new fans to come in and that the seats were from the 20 yard lines out. I appreciate the effort, but again as a long time ticket holder throw us a bone sometime.... especially after removing our concession vouchers (reserved sections).
  14. Well, this stinks! MSN doesn't have us in a bowl game. Bah Humbug to them! http://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/ncaafb/bowl-predictions-2016-80-teams-41-games-1-national-title-showdown/ar-BBtCy8V?ocid=spartandhp
  15. Personally, I liked the line about how come November, we will know if they are bowl eligible.
  16. I am going to assume the "only been around for a few decades" comment was aimed at me. I am only 35 but, I live and breathe Akron Blue and Gold and have done so since 1986. My dad started taking me to games and I have never looked back. I have missed 3-4 games since then at home, and 2 are regrettable. I missed the comeback at the Rubber Bowl on a Friday night in the early to mid 00's, and I missed the 66-0 win over Howard when they had the Battle of the Bands. I have seen so many games they are starting to run together. I support the Zips as much as possible. I have 2 degrees from the University and I will do everything I can to ensure my children go there. I have my bleacher seat from the Rubber Bowl and I will forever hold that as one of my prize possessions. I know the history as well as I have read up on the old OVC days. My dad who bought his season tickets in 1966 has stories of taking a train to watch the Zips play in the Grantland Rice Bowl only to lose to Terry Bradshaw and Lousiana Tech. in 1968 and of the only Zips "bowl" win in 1976 vs. Northern Michigan. I love talking Zips football! Go Zips!
  17. I was just answering the question. I'd love to see Akron clinch early so it wouldn't matter... but I think we all know better.
  18. Done. I'd like to see what they do with this info. I guess we will see if being brutally honest makes a difference.
  19. I still think worst play in football history is going for 2 to win! But, I am bitter!
  20. This makes me sad. He was my favorite player to watch the last 2 years.
  21. valley
  22. Buffalo lost to BGSUcks by 1. I dont see this game as an easy win at all. Anytime you play on the road anything can happen. I love my Zips, but I'm not feeling so confident this time around.
  23. Not one student ever dreams of growing up and going to Akron. Most survey the landscape and decide Akron is acceptable-- mainly for economical reasons. You are wrong on this point. I grew up going to the Rubber Bowl with my dad and to this day I still savor those fall nights (when they actually played night games) watching fireworks, bands, parades, skydivers, etc. I couldn't wait to go to Akron U and grow up and go to games on my own. Now that I have my own kids I want to take them ( little young yet almost 2 years old) but I cant wait for another couple years. I have 2 degrees from Akron (thinking about a third) and have had season tickets since 1987! I saw Alcorns Acme Zip winning 55 yard FG, I saw Leftwhich get carried down the field, I saw Pennington, Roethlisberger beat us (3 times), I saw Frye elude about 6 guys and throw a 45 yard TD pass, Ive watched Getsy to Hixon in person and I attended every Ianello debacle. So please, don't tell me not one student dreams of it. I did and I keep coming back!
