Sorry double post

A generic script from a Nike catalog. Congrats to whoever thought this was a good idea. This is worse than when the basketball team decided our school colors were silver, blue and black for like 4 seasons. Giant mistake and horrible decision. Embarrassing move by a Division 1 school. Anyone think we could get a petition or something going to get this changed? I remember when Michigan State tried to modify the Spartan logo and the fanbase nearly rioted.

Never had a problem with Auburn. But why are their fans trolling the Akron social media accounts? Do they have nothing better to do tonight? Reminds me exactly why I hate big schools and their arrogant fanbases.

I think the script Akron is fine and okay in some applications. Works on the front of basketball jerseys or occasionally on football helmets. But it shouldn't be a primary logo when we have really cool logos to pick from. I don't think any school, or professional team, has a main logo that's just their name except for Ole Miss. It just feels generic and amateurish.

Not sure what is worse. Our football team or the fact that the school seems to have completely abandoned all of our Zips logos and branding. I think we're just called the Akron now.

Glad there's another graphic designer on here! I'm not surprised that our minds think the same way. The Akron cursive script is literally a generic wordmark pulled from the Nike uniform catalog. The basketball team started using it and everyone else followed. It's disappointing. Not only have they ditched a great logoset, but the custom Akron font isn't even used on the new jerseys. Just a generic block font. Someone in the marketing department needs to get the school's branding back on track.

Maybe I'm in the minority, but I think the cursive "Akron" is the worst. Not sure why it's basically being used as a primary logo now across all sports. It's boring and generic. Especially when we already have two very cool unique logos that are almost never used anymore.

Pretty excited to be finally switching to Nike. Seems long overdue and all teams should have made the switch along with the basketball team. I know Caleb Porter preferred Adidas, but Nike is the best. We won't get special treatment like Oregon or OSU, but it will be much better. I'm excited to get my hands on some new gear and see the new uniforms.

I'm so thankful YouTube TV automatically records sporting events for favorite teams and leagues. Seems like I'll be watching a lot of this season's Zips, Cavs, XFL and NHL games.

This article by Terry Pluto made me incredibly mad. Hey Akron hoops was good this year, let's interview Keith Dambrot and ask him what he thinks about it. Who the hell cares what he thinks? He bailed and Groce put together a nice run this season. Maybe, I don't know, interview the coach responsible for winning?

I'm assuming that the Browns taking a LB in the third means they probably won't go after Gilbert. Unless he's undrafted. Still am a bit worried Pittsburgh might pick him. Although they also took a LB but don't think they are as solid at the position as Cleveland.

Akron had 12 prospects at the Browns regional pro day. The most of any school. Would love to see some of them get a shot in Cleveland.

I remember a few years back one of these secondary pro leagues wanted to put a team in Akron. I wonder if the AAF will ever make it's way to InfoCision? The way the league is structured if a team were placed in Ohio it would pull from OSU, Akron, and Kent alumni. The AAF has said they want to become the official farm system for the NFL. So add a Browns affiliation to the team and you have to think they could get some good crowds, and unfortunately better crowds than the Zips typically get. That is IF the weather is okay. I watched 3 of the games this weekend and they were surprisingly entertaining.

For me the sound doesn't match up to the video and it's extremely quiet. Why is this so difficult?

That game perfectly summed up KD's tenure. A team with "huge" expectations, playing to the level of it's competition and losing a game they should have won easily.

Playing in front of 50 people. Is that more than they usually get for normal home games?

I think you may have misunderstood me. Matt Campbell coached at Toledo for 5 seasons. I disliked him back then, and I don't like him at Iowa State now.

Blows my mind how many people want Matt Campbell to be the next Browns coach. I'll admit I've always disliked him since his days at Toledo. Not many college coaches are successful in the NFL without any previous NFL experience. Can't imagine if guys like Spurrier and Saban couldn't do it, that a guy who is 15-17 and barely beat Akron this season would succeed in the NFL. But hey, the Browns have always been good at picking coaches.

There's a reason they look "high school." It the stock script font they took from the Nike Uniform catalog and just started slapping it on everything. Nike Basketball Uniform Builder Nothing really unique about it and it is hard to read.

Need need need some points Zips!

This is how I feel. How many times have the Zips started 2-0? Never? At least not since I have been a fan. Can't be disappointed in 2-1, but the Zips need to seize this moment. Just once I want to see us make a run like UCF, FAU, NIU, or even Toledo.
