First of all, the marketing department has nothing to do with 1-win football teams, hiring Ianello, Porter leaving, and mediocre basketball. I've never worked in marketing but I can imagine it's easy to be given a a pile of crap and try to market it to the community as a steak. I don't think you, or anyone else around here has the right to insult people. If you think you can do a better job, why not apply? The ONLY thing we have going for us right now is a good soccer team (which will end after this year) and a beautiful football stadium. But no matter how much incentive you give students to go to a football game, it doesn't matter if the team is a consistent loser. Take the Indians for example, they have one of the best marketing departments around. Fireworks and free stuff including JERSEYS are given away to fans and still no one shows up. Why? because the product on the field is bad.

Comparing the club level at Infocision to the lower bowl at the JAR is ridiculous. Students should be close to the floor, in a unified section. Honestly I'd rather thousands of students siting packed into those sections, than a few hundred random people that sit on their hands for most of the game. Do schools like Duke, UNC, and Pitt shove the students into tiny sections in the end? Students at those schools get the best seats in the house.

That was 100% a clean hit. Lead with the shoulder, surprised they even threw a flag to begin with. But, they need to me more consistent with calling holding and ball spots. Akron got screwed out of 2 yards and 1st down on the last drive. Apparently forward progress means nothing to MAC refs...

Guess my "negativity" is the reason the Zips completely collapsed and lost this game.

21-14. Akron is 1-8 and if you think we're going to win you're fooling yourself. Sorry I want them to win as much as anyone, but it's not going to happen. Have to assume Can't is going to score on every possession for the rest of the game.

14-7 now just like that. It's not negativity, it's reality.

14-0 doesn't mean much, this team is capable of losing 50-14. I'm not comfortable with any lead, the defense is just way too weak.

I've always said the student sections should be along the I-J-K-L side. ...but at the end of the day it comes down to money. Hopefully they decide to build a new arena that allows for a more unified/larger student section.

This is said before every year, and every year we end up with basically the same results as the year before or worse. I don't mean this as an insult, but the fans who watch practices always tend to act like they know more than anyone else. Does it really mean my input doesn't matter, because I haven't watched them practice? I never watched the Zips football team practice, and I said they would be terrible. They are currently 1-7. Most teams look good in practice, because you have no real opponent to judge them against. I've watched the Zips for all of the KD era, and I know what to expect when entering each season. Every year we get new players, every year we're supposed to be better. I've heard it all before!

We will play to the level of our competition for the most part. Probably have a few blow out wins and losses tossed in, but not too many. Season will be decided during the MAC tournament, like it usually is. OOC record, of the games know at least, will be 7-5. Most likely 7-7 based on the teams we'll potentially play in the PR tournament.

I just don't see why they don't try Pohl. We have nothing to lose! I understand Bowden is probably showing a bit of loyalty to Williams, be at this point I just want to win.

Haven't even gotten a first down yet. I don't know how they expect to win when you start a games down 17-0, 14-0.

I think it's about time to move on from Williams. He hasn't really put up good numbers since the huge game against Miami. A lot of the throws seem to be way off.

No fanbase should be happy with losing. Whether you lose by 20 or lose by 3, it's all the same. Just use our basketball team as a comparison. How long have we been waiting for them to "turn the corner"? and it still hasn't happened yet. The thought is always "just think how much better we will be next year" but in all reality, we never really are. Ohio knows they have this game won, and the announcers are talking about 7-0.
