The MAC (and of course BG) sure miss Chris Jans. NMSU is hanging tough with UNCONN and I think they have a chance to win. The WAC is pretty weak I believe, but they had wins over Wash St and Davidson this season.

My thoughts likely would have been different maybe even a week ago, definitely when we lost to Kent, NIU, and WMU..but the way the team came together post Trimble and the way they performed in the tournament really makes me hesitant to make any changes. We're young and have arrived a year early. These guys are going to be hungry after getting a taste of the tournament. The only noticeable area I'd want to improve is backup PG, but Clarke has improved throughout the season and the freshman have the talent to challenge him, so I think that will take care of itself. I've talked about about not having that DJ Cooper/LCJ type of guard, but X has shown we can win even if that isn't him. He's tough, plays good D, and shoots pretty solid. Everyone is really excelling in their roles right now. It's tough for me to support bringing somebody in to mess it up unless its a can't pass up type of player.

One play in game for 11 seeds and one for 12 seeds should be why they are 54.

Nice read from everybody's favorite - Terry Pluto. A couple stats I wasn't aware of - Akron has the best MAC winning % in the conference when you look at the last 3 seasons, yes better than Toledo. He's got the frame and athleticism. Agree on adding weight and improving ball handling skills/decision making. I'd probably throw in that I'd like him to be more aggressive as well. He is prone to some unique decisions (which IMO mostly stems from indecisiveness). FWIW - I don't remember anyone talking about Preston prior to the year he left and I barely even remember Richaun Holmes at BG, but looking at stats, he really didn't even break out til his senior year. Ali's size, athleticism, shooting efficiency, ability to create, and ability to hit LBJ-type turnaround fadeaway shots gives me the thought, but then again I thought Zeke was a near lock to have an NBA career so...
