  1. Like every other time a new coach is brought in, the staff will be at the head coach's discretion, not the University's. Moorhead is free to retain anyone he feels to.
  2. Mario is leaving Oregon for Miami. May be some Ducks looking for a new home...
  3. 10am on the 9th. Not open to public, but streamed live on Gozips.com
  4. I definitely think he isn't happy regarding overall attendance. I make an attempt to watch every game, but driving down to Akron on weeknight's and/or watching them play some random low major or D2 team is just hard for me to justify.
  5. We obviously don't know everything that goes on...but last year the self proclaimed "bench mob" with a core of Dawson, Reece, Wynn, and Tribble were fun to watch. Mostly because of effort. Not sure what would have happened between than and now. Maybe a bit of an attitude issue due to role not increasing. All I can say is lack of effort hasn't stuck out to me in prior playing time.
  6. I did as well on Weds. Just figured he would move on with life considering he's been here for 5 years already (maybe even 6 as I vaguely recall him grey-shirting), or at the least look to go somewhere else as his career here has been pretty miserable. Regardless, happy to welcome him back for another year if he chooses. We need all the talent we can get.
  7. Yawn. Couldn't care less as long as its not the ancient "A" logos.
  8. Thrilled its officially official. Looking forward to seeing the staff members and start to hear some news on the recruiting trail. BTW...could Bubba be coming back? Really thought he was done for a multitude of reasons, including what some have posted on this board. bubba arslanian on Twitter: "Time to work đź”’ @ZipsFB" / Twitter
  9. Not that I'm blaming or criticizing Moorhead, but this isn't exactly a game to get excited about over him.
  10. 32 scholarship players is the new one year limit, assuming at least 7 players enter the transfer portal voluntarily. We are at or close to that already. Peterson, Blunt, Gibson, Qualls, Scott, and Dollard at least. No limit on walk-on turnover as far as I know.
  11. Up to 32 new scholarship players, 117-85 (max amount of scholly players going forward) = 32. 32 +32 = 64 potential new players including scholarship players and walk ons. No limit to new walk ons.
  12. just got the shoutout by Herbstreit.
  13. Many of those players aren't on the team and many of them were also never on scholarship when they were on the team.
  14. We do not have 90 scholarship players. More like 75....we were never close to the max while Arth was here as a result of him pushing all of Bowden's recruits away and then the natural attrition that happened after that. We should be able to get to the max of 85 this year I'd think, especially with the extra 7 now allowed for players who enter the transfer portal.
  15. They also lost to BG....
  16. I don't disagree with anyone's assessment on Walton. All I'm saying is the lack of fit should have been identified well before he was on the roster so that scholarship could go to somebody else who is making our team better right now. To double down, Fulford was coach at Missouri. I don't care enough to confirm they were there at the same time..but its pretty close looking at it. He should have known better.
  17. That doesn't sound correct, even if their entire 2021 class was transfers. The max addition for scholarship players in any given year prior to 2022 was 25. Unless they were able to convince a lot of players to transfer as walk ons... I don't think your far off but I'll leave this as food for thought: We have 3 payday games in MSU, Tenn, and Liberty. Liberty is the most winnable but they are still tough. 3 pay day games makes it really difficult to have high-win season. As an example, Kent has their best team in some time and will likely win the MAC, but their record is only 7-5 as a result of playing Texas A&M, Iowa, and Maryland. Just doesn't leave much room for error in conference play.
  18. Echoing what many have said here, but my takeaways: Heck of an entertaining game. Marshall sort of gave it to us at the end, but credit to our team for taking it when the opportunity was there. Didn't like Groce switching to the zone at times. There were to distinct instances I recall it leading to a wide open 3 - which they made - and it should have cost us the game. Heck of a game by Tribble and Trimble, but not sure its fair to count on that from them every night. We simply need more from #13 and/or #11 if we want to go to the tourney. We are getting as close to nothing from them as we can. Not necessarily negative plays - but nothing that I see that really contributes to our success. I thought something was up when I didn't see Walton starting or on the bench, and checking here confirmed it. 6/9 shooting and 16 points is what he gave us against the best team we'll play all year. I believe Groce & Co brought him in because it was known his experience and skill was a big need. We aren't as good of a team without him and he lasted a grand total of 6 games. I'm sure it is on Walton that he's no longer on the team, but I think Groce deserves some criticism for not doing better vetting. As a result, we'll have a scholarship not going to use when it was expected to be used on potentially our top player the whole year. Big loss, but hopefully we can overcome it and players perform like they did last night on a more consistent basis.
  19. There is very little out there, but it appears it was appendicitis. So I believe life threatening at the time, but not a lasting issue.
  20. Count me in for a pair of season tickets as well.
  21. For anyone who may have attended the games thus far or who may have read it somewhere - what is the policy on masks for the games?
  22. $5 GA tickets for tonight. Also, if anyone could help me embed tweets, it would be appreciated. I'm simply copying and pasting the twitter URL as I've done in the past, but it hasn't worked the same since the update. I've also switched browsers to Microsoft Edge recently, so I'm not sure if that has anything to do with it. 23. Thanks for bringing this up. Watching some this evening. Learning more about his offense, I wonder if DJ is naturally a better fit (not that Zach wasn't a capable runner himself).
  24. Maybe he does want to finish out this week at Oregon for whatever reason. I personally don't believe its a great idea. Its a critical time to recruit players as well as coaches. Every day matters.
