I don’t know anything special. I believe we’ve had some guys out on defense from COVID beginning with week 2 based on what I’ve put together. It’s been over 14 days so they should be back. I think this’ll include at least Cross and Wilson, so hopefully some more depth on the DL. Maybe Michael Scott too. I didn’t notice any of the above mentioned get hurt during week 1 game, and they didn’t play week 2 or 3. Also hopefully may get some other players like Mathison back. Kato is always a wildcard too, though who knows if he’d see the field over Gibson or not at this point.

We may be getting an influx of players available which makes me hesitant to take Miami +14.5

I imagine they'll all at minimum be on ESPN3/ESPN+ or CBSSN. -

I’m sure they’ll conveniently be back for our game.

2020-2021 Akron Zips Basketball- Looking Forward

3 of those guys would be pretty big surprises I think. Freeman most definitely. Then Ali and Marshall in that order. Looking forward to the season. Losing Williams, Banks, Cheese, and Riak was a lot, but I definitely think we reloaded with Trimble, Marshall, Dailey, and Currie + everyone else with more time to develop. -

Last night was supposed to be the night we upset Ohio State ? -
Thanks for joining. I pretty much agree with you spot on. Stick around!

Kevin Koger - Packers Johnathan Cooley - Rams Shelton Felton - Tennessee Scott Aligo - Michigan State Davern Williams - Troy Possibly with the exception of Williams, who left to coach at his alma mater, the rest of these guys were on the staff since he's been at Akron who undoubtedly left for a promotion. I may even be forgetting one or two. There are also additional connections on the LA Rams that I believe have been on his staff. To me, it indicates that his "buddies" do have some talent and give me more hope than I otherwise would have.

Wynn never made it to campus. He was a commit for Bowden's class before fired. Hooks was also not an Arth recruit. I don't know who Peters is. Not a single one of those players are doing anything anywhere else, with the exception of Council. To add, hardly any of those players did anything at all here, with the exception of Williams and Morris, but most can agree WR isn't really an issue. Don't get me wrong, i'd prefer to have them all here so we can field a whole team and have depth, but we aren't otherwise missing much based on what they done here/what they are doing elsewhere. Coaching changes bring turnover...its a cost of doing business. Especially when both coaches in question are polar opposites in what they expect off of the field.

I don't have an issue with WRs...exciting about the future of Qualls as well as Mathison if he can stay healthy. Tony Grimes is a freshman walk-on and more than holding his own. Dollard is a beast. Had the second most yards in program history in the game last night. I think Gibson can be a pretty good MAC QB if he can cut down on the turnovers. O-Line is playing a bunch of freshman and is already better than the hand we were dealt last year. Defense needs a whole lot of work, but we have also been quite shorthanded. Bryce Wilson, Corey Thomas, MIchael Scott, and Jacquize Cross are starters who haven't played since week 1. Quevan Lawson and Demetrick Watts are other guys I was expecting to see, but haven't seen them on sideline/field at all. Looks like Demarkus Glover got his first action of the season last night. Perspective is important. I think the team is actually watchable this year and there are bright spots. I am seeing some development. Still plenty of work to do though. I'm just a guy on the internet, but if I were the staff, I'd bring in at least a P5 transfer at each level for next season. Taking the weakest link at DL, LB, and DB and replacing them with a Se'Von Pittman, Darryl Monroe, or Avis Commack type could allow us to make a big jump.
-
Snowden may end up being a nice player for us, but he really needs to bulk up if he's going to play LB. Looks like a DB out there.
-
I sure hope.

It was fun for a half. Get some young guys in there for experience. Can't do any worse.

two penalties on Ogbonna today
-
Why can't we get a punter. Tired of seeing Fitschen punt it 5 yards.
-
We are competing, thats for sure. I may change my opinion about 5 times before the end of the season, but: Offense: I like our WRs and Teon. OL is exceeding expectations considering experience and will only get better. I like Gibson as the future if he can clean up decision making, which you'd expect as he gains more experience. Defense: Need to bring in immediate upgrades at every level. Kent's offense is legit, but its been tough to watch all year.
-
Regardless of result...i think we can all agree on on thing: Kent State still sucks!

I'm pretty sure we have COVID issues last week on D, Ohio had a COVID breakout immediately after they played us, and I saw a player's parent hint on twitter we should cancel as well when news of their game broke. I don't know the MAC's policy, but wouldn't be surprised if we are missing quite a few again. Probably operating at something like 55 scholarship players available if its a similar injury/COVID situation as last week.

Game day. Let’s go Zips!
-
I hope we get Mathison back. Very excited about him and Qualls going forward.
-
Odds of finishing the season? Looking bad out there in general and in CFB.

No stars yet doesn't mean he won't be a 3 star... I've watched his hudl, Gavin Malott's hudl, and Epp's hudl. The one that I was the least impressed with was Epps'. I'd be curious for other opinions.
