  1. Nice drive. We've been moving the ball nicely all game. Need more Burton, less Lee. The negative plays are killer. No more inexcusable turnovers and D needs to tighten up and we got this.
  2. Riley is getting abused.
  3. Absolutely inexcusable for Sands to fumble that.
  4. Our defense was a crap show on that drive. Two negative plays by #5. Freshman being thrown in not knowing where to line up. 7-7.
  5. In the first half, so he's good to play. If it was in the 2nd half, he would have had to sit out the first half of this one. Already a weird game. Our D actually created a turnover. Nelson started, even though the announcers said he was out. Huge play by Mathison. We converted a 4th down for a TD to Hicks. Smigel is kicking XPs rather than Fitschen. Lets goooo!

  7. Wolfley out along with Kato. I guess that means Burkhart is back at least.
  8. Robbie Kelley getting his first start at QB today.
  9. Any players in the portal are no longer on the team, so you wont' be seeing them any more unless they decide to remove themselves from the portal and the staff accepts them back. The new regime has been pretty diligent about updating the roster online. You won't see anyone in the portal now listed on the roster except for Williams because he just entered. His name will be removed within a day or two.
  10. https://247sports.com/college/akron/Season/2020-Football/TransferPortal/ I don't like when you make these posts, because there's always merit to them. Andre Williams in portal.
  11. Absolutely. It might be our only win this year. I unfortunately might have to watch on replay. Totally will be worth my $12 or whatever it costs to stream.
  12. I think we are at 74 right now, but could be off by one. Were at 78. White, Jacobs, Swanson, and I believe Lavelle makes it 74. Lavelle was here in the summer/fall camp as far as I know, but is now at Garden City CC. He definitely was on the roster at some point. I believe he would have been counted in the 78 when that comment was originally made, but I'm unsure. Don't know who else on the attached would be on scholly, as the staff has publicized walk ons getting schollys. Maybe we gave Brandon Lee one. If not, I'd have to imagine he will be on it next year. The other candidate is Romenick, but it doesn't seem common to give shollys to back up ST players. When I did the math, we could afford to lose two players to transfer and be able to get back up to the max next season. As it stands today, we are going to be at least 1 or 2 under again. I agree with you..we can't afford to lose players, at least for a couple years. Would be nice if we could get to the point where the tables are turned and we recommend players go elsewhere for better opportunities to play. Zips Football Scholarship Chart.xlsx
  13. Do you feel better now?
  14. Peter Hayes-Patrick also liked this tweet. If he's gone, I might just cry.
  15. Trey Coleman started his career at Tennessee. With the early departures of Suggs, White, and Alce and the departure of Sands after this year, I think he would be a very welcomed addition.
  16. Agreed. Dealing with this season will be tough for everyone involved (players, coaches, fans) , but I think if he "keep the team" without much more attrition and bring in another decent class, the lumps we are taking this year should set us up well for the future. Easier said than done though, I think.
  17. "10:30 a.m. ET: The biggest decision of the day for Circa sportsbook in Vegas, believe it or not, is on Troy vs. Akron thanks to a “mid five-figures” bet on Troy -17."
  18. Looks like he is trying to get back to TX. I thought I saw Scarby at a CBA recruiting event the other night...guess I did.
  19. Can't speak for the CMU game, but he wasn't dressed (along with White) during the UAB game.
  20. This season is depressing. I need some good news, whether it be on the field or recruiting front soon.
  21. Week 4 presser. He gets a little fired up at the 16:10 mark when GT questions the O-line.
  22. Nice post Z.I.P. Your last sentence is a good point. I see it as work in practice against better competition and pay your way through school for the year or get in practice/games/school covered for a year. I don't take much issue with either choice. The impatience is college basketball is intriguing to me. Giving up on a player after their redshirt freshman year is baffling to me. Even giving up on players after their true freshman year (like Groce has done) is baffling to me. Not everyone is going to come in and light the world on fire..some take time to develop and they have up to 5 years of eligibility. I'm glad our program didn't give up on Big Dog that early...
  23. Darn. Looks like I'm off base. Still should be a nice add next year.
  24. Looks like we are adding a much needed big guy just in time for the season?! Looks like a stretch 4 with 3 years of immediate eligibility. http://verbalcommits.com/players/taylor-currie
