  2. Homecoming info/$10 tickets to the Kent game right now. Just picked up 4.
  3. https://admin.gozips.com/documents/2019/8/26//1_GameNotes_Illinois_083119.pdf?id=13902 True fresh Michael Mathison, Xavior Gray, Kyshad Mack, and Ryan Beckman (walk on?) cracked the 2 deep. Floyd back up RB. Meeks and Hawkins starting DEs. Reggier Corner Jr starting Nickel. Demetrick Watts starting ILB.

  5. Game week! Anxiously awaiting the depth chart....wonder what surprises there will be.
  6. ahem...i think you mean "Mr. Big Chest"
  7. hopefully a greyshirt. He was always my favorite of this class and his only other reported offer was Marshall. Maybe academics was the reason.
  8. 1) I have to go Hayes-Patrick. Sands has been injury prone throughout his career, everyone else is pretty unproven, and Reese is apparently no longer on the team. I'd be pretty surprised if he doesn't end up getting opportunity this season for one reason or another, though that would probably be a good thing (other backs healthy/doing well). My second choice is one of the freshman DBs. If I have to pick a name, i'll say Adetutu. Just a real lack of depth/unproven players there, especially at CB. 2) Demetrick Watts. Dude was a baller in D2, which isn't saying much, but I think he is more proven than any of our other newcomers. I recall a story about how our coaches thought he was too small for an offer, then they saw him in person and offered on the spot. I've also heard his name mentioned in some clips..so he seems to be doing well. Hicks is my second choice, especially with Jonah Morris out. 3) I'm tempted to go Justin Sampson, as he's a great athlete who I think can thrive in more of an explicit pass-rushing type position on the edge..but I haven't heard much about him so far. However, considering our head coach, the importance of the position, and the positive attitude I've seen from him so far...I think I am going to go Kato.
  9. This is a contract year for Jatavis. Looks like he's also supposed to make 3x plus the amount he's made in any previous year this season. Big year and offseason for him. Hopefully he can stay healthy and show out.
  10. PFF has Kato in at least the top 70. Plenty of opponents in 71-130. https://www.pff.com/news/college-pff-rankings-starting-quarterback-rankings-for-2019

  12. UGIII looked really good last night. He got in on D about mid 3rd quarter until the end of the game. INT at the goal line on a 2pt conversion, strip sack, and another sack. Another QB pressure/hit as well. I must've missed the 2nd sack. Not a single "negative" play (missed tackle, beat in coverage, etc). Pretty pumped for him.. I also didn't see MAC DPOY Sutton Smith on the field at all.
  13. Good for him. If Groce can't get it together, he'll have a few years of experience and could be a serious candidate. Smart hire by their new HC.
  14. I didn't go one by one down the list, but I believe all of our signees actually made it to campus. How refreshing! For sake of discussion: 1) What freshman will be the biggest contributor this year? Hayes-Patrick seems like an easy choice, but some of the DBs are starting off strong as well, like Cochran and McDonald and I believe there is some opportunity there. 2) What new member of the team will be the biggest contributor (including fresh, JUCO, transfer, etc)? 3) Returning player who takes the biggest step forward on offense and defense under the new coaching staff?
  15. Zipmeister drunk posting again?
  16. Sh!t. At least we have depth at WR and he should be able to get a 6th year. Did we ever find out if Hicks is immediately eligible?
  17. Our roster is updated with the JUCO newcomers. Cross and Mitchell from Indy CC. Harris who we've seen some of on twitter. A new one is DeCavilon Reese, a RB from Benedictine. Originally had offers to Marshall, Toledo, and Miami (OH) out of HS.
  18. Another Zip in the NFL. I think the 49ers will be scouting us a little more now. https://www.linkedin.com/posts/warrenballjr_wowgod-youre-amazing-i-am-excited-to-activity-6563158415504482304-rfq5
  19. That would be pretty dang sweet, but that account has a whopping 41 followers so....
  20. I've enjoyed all the videos in this and the other thread so far. Much preferred to the 1-2 minute clips I remember from the past. Looking forward to getting my daily fix throughout camp!
  21. Training Camp media guide: https://gozips.com/documents/2019/7/31/2019_Akron_FB_Media_Guide_ALL.pdf?id=13871 Don't see any of the Indy CC commits included or anyone else that would be a surprise. Looks like we lost Rich Hall and Malik Wooldridge (which 94zipgrad alluded to before).
  22. FYI - looks like he will actually be on the team in 2019. I just started watching Last Chance U last night. Will have to keep an eye out for him.
  23. or greyshirting like Tree, Harney, and (I believe) Ivey did.
  24. anyone know when fall camps starts?
