My expectations are that he will be a quality player capable of running the offense, anything else will be gravy as I expect Ivey and Utomi to lead the team on the offensive side. He has certainly shown flashes during his career, has experience against some of the best talent in the nation, and is a 5th year senior. Coupled with the mass exodus of MAC talent, I don't see any reason why expecting him to be solid at worst is unreasonable.

Who said that isn't the goal? Expecting that in a transition year is REALLY unrealistic though.

Only 4 players from last season's team will be on this years. Crazy. Encouraging players previously good enough for the team under KD like Aa Jackson and Dalton to leave seems like a good thing as you have to assume those scholly's are going to be filled by better players. Feel much better about the season now that Duvivier is official. Expecting Patton to captain the ship would have been too much. It will be interesting to see how these guys come together.

So......another scholly ? I'll say Aa. Jackson represented himself well here. Never lived up to my expectations on the court, but seemed to be a good teammate and student from my perspective.

I like to think I follow college football pretty religiously yet I never even heard of him until the MWC championship. I watched that and their bowl game and came away unimpressed. He could have declared this year, IIRC.

He is really the only one I'm sold on at this very early point. Rosen has some Manziel in him off of the field. I don't get Allen hype at all. The system Rudolph is coming from always raises questions, as does a QB with Lamar Jackson's playing style.

The NCAA isn't the one paying Saban.

I really don't want to be "that guy", but I don't see his highlight film as being all that impressive considering the offers he had before injury. I found a player like DeMarkus Glover's much better and we were his only offer as far as I know. Obviously hope I am wrong and this guy ends up being a stud for us, but maybe offers aren't the end all be all some make them out to be. Then again, I'm not getting paid hundreds of thousands of dollars to coach football.
