  1. The question is how much the people in charge of the rules seem to care about the problem. TV seems to drive college football, and the ratings are up (unlike NFL). Hence #MACtion.
  2. so from that press conference....Se'Von will be back. Probably just gave him some rest last game as we didn't need him. Jojo has been battling the shoulder issue all year (I've noticed him run off the field holding it a few times) and he is "fine". It was a vague answer, but I'm leaning towards him playing. Chapman and Woody are both "our quarterback". NIce little attempt at gamesmanship, coach. I've got a ton more confidence in Chapman after the past two games, but if Woody is healthy, he better be our QB. Also, I just noticed our bye week is right before the last week of the season which kind of sucks with all of the injuries we are dealing with.On the bright side, It is the week before OU and that game will probably decide who goes to Detroit.
  3. They are trying to get students out for this one.
  4. I still like my original prediction of 7-5. Possibly 8-4, but still under the 8.5 line. Toledo and WMU should be losses. Buffalo and BGSU should be wins. OU and Ball State are probably toss ups even though I think we are better than them both. I think we'll lose to one of them because I'm not sure if we are good enough to beat every team we should yet, especially with the injuries piling up. Beat OU and we should be in Detroit at 7-5. Prove me wrong fellas.
  5. You're complaining about a spread which means nothing for a certain game, but if WMU beats they spread you can't admit that the oddsmakers were right? Not sure what kind of logic that is. MSU's wins are over Furman and 2-4 Notre Dame. Congrats I guess? They were blown out at home by Wisconsin and lost by 3 scores at home to BYU, who Toledo was beating until the final seconds at their place. Indiana has wins over FIU, Ball State, and 2-3 MSU. Not that impressive. WMU would certainly compete with and probably beat them this year.
  6. So if WMU does beat the spread would you then agree with my rationale?
  7. You conveniently left out the fact that they are one of 10 or 11 unbeaten teams left in FBS, #24 ranked team in the country, and have more B1G wins than Michigan State. Whether they are in our conference or not is besides the point.
  8. Did some reading around and it seems he was suspended in college for an incident in HS where he had a picture of him holding a gun. The gun photo apparently scared some programs like FSU and OSU away. I cannot speculate on the photo because I cannot find, but I do know there is nothing illegal about posting a picture holding a gun. The final straw seemed to be that he broke his leg playing basketball and tried lying to the coaching staff about it. Seems like he has maturity issues at worst.
  9. Davis will be a top 5 WR drafted next year. I think I saw their top RB, Bogan, has been injured. But they really don't have a drop off in having to resort to Franklin. He was MAC Offensive player of the year a few years ago as a freshman. Need to see if I can dig up some games to watch and confirm, but I've heard that their passing defense is highly susceptible.
  10. Interesting stat: WMU is the only FBS team to not turn the ball over yet this season.
  11. Broncos come in at #24 in this week's AP poll. When is the last time a ranked opponent has came to Akron!? Super bummed I will not be able to attend live. http://collegefootball.ap.org/poll
  12. Since we are well known for taking on transfers, I wanted to start a thread tracking potential players of interest. Sort of like the HS player thread that I believe Cap'n started. We have James King, John Semerene, Jelani Hamilton, and Larry Hope all on the roster from Miami which makes it seem like we have a pretty strong connection there somewhere. We also have Alvin Davis and Jelani Hamilton as St. Thomas Aquinas grads on the roster. Which leads me to.... freshman 4 star WR Sam Bruce from St. Thomas Aquinas who was released today from Miami for "multiple violations of team rules". Link to 247: http://247sports.com/Player/Sam-Bruce-23288 Senior highlight video: http://www.prepforce.com/video/8416 I hope him and Alvin are good buddies
  13. I take offense to that.
  14. Don't doubt any of what you all are saying. His highlight videos are awesome. I just wonder if he is as good as he looks and all of you seem to think, why is he so under recruited?
  15. I would hope that isn't the case. Loser's mentality. If you want to consider yourself a contender in the MAC, you shouldn't be afraid to compete with anybody.
  16. Not noticing a corner is usually a pretty good sign they are doing a good job. Hope seems to get the majority of the targets for whatever reason.
  17. Depends on who we have available I think. Agree with Skip. Only real chance to win is a shootout. I've got a gut feeling that Woody and Ball will be back. Natson potentially being out throws a big wrench into the hopes of an upset.
  18. Shawn seems to be having some fun in his post UA days http://deadspin.com/world-champion-pole-vaulters-explanation-for-positive-c-1787490640?utm_campaign=socialflow_deadspin_twitter&utm_source=deadspin_twitter&utm_medium=socialflow
  19. Question for the ESPN3'ers as maybe someone has experience i dont. I have a family commitment on Saturday and won't be able to start watching the game until 6 ish. Rather than start at wherever the game is live, is it possible to start from the beginning?!
  20. Hard to answer these correct without knowing who QB will be, but I gave it a shot.
  21. I've had zero qualms with our O-line this season. Replacing all 5 starters and being better is just remarkable. The coaches weren't kidding us about being more talented.
  22. So, nobody knows what happened?!
  23. They should really open conference play with rivalry week every year. Games more meaningful then, better weather, students in town, etc.
  24. Good point. Important for us Zips fans to keep perspective. Going to go bowling for the 2nd straight season (3rd time in school history), probably play in the MAC championship game, and have a real chance to break the record for most wins in a season for the 2nd straight year.
