  1. Indeed. Hopefully the team is taking us a lightly as they are.
  2. Just watched their game. Clement will be the key guy to stop obviously. QB is a senior who made his first start since high school in 2011. Seemed fine, but limited him mostly to PA short-mid passes. Starting ILB Chris Orr and starting OL Micah Kapoi left the game injured. Hard to tell what their status will be, but I could see Wisconsin maybe sitting them out. After us they have Georgia State. But after that...they couldn't ask for a tougher gauntlet of MSU, UM, OSU, and Iowa all right after the other. JJ Watt's little brother is a start at OLB for them. He always seemed around the ball. Wheelright is their best WR, IMO. I think their playing style on offense and our perceived strength on defense (last night, run D was on par with what it was last year) means that it at least shouldn't be a blow out. Chryst is the HC and he calls the plays. We should be familiar with his system. The Badgers should be ranked... Also, that cheap shot at the end of the game by the LSU OL was dirty as hell.
  3. ahh..good idea. I think I'll take a look at the Wisconsin game this morning. The beauty of WatchESPN..
  4. I'd agree. We were definitely more talented, but the Keydets played hard and were fundamentally sound. About what you'd expect...
  5. Thoughts: Zipgrad01 is entering a few other posters' territory in terms of negative nancy-ness. Thought the offense skill players were outstanding. Jojo looks everything he has been talked to up to be, though I am worried about all 151 lbs of him staying healthy. Ball is the best RB we've had in the 6+ years I've been a Zips fan. Woody looked better than last year, Lane looked more polished than last year, and Wolf made a few tough grabs. The new o-line seemed to do a good job in pass protection, but I think run blocking could use some work. On Ball's carries for no gain/loss, it seemed the guys who tackled him were untouched. I mean he averaged 6+ yards a carry and he was tackled numerous times at the LOS or backfield where a block was clearly missed. Not sure how you can be disappointed in his performance. Defense: I like our talent overall. Gave up way too many short passes. Assuming its mostly the LB's to blame. Personally don't think Hauser is good enough to start on D. Predict he will be replaced. Gilbert looked like everything I thought he would. Special teams: no confidence in O'Leary at all. Would have liked to see him get some FG practice in. Liked Edwards returning as well. Feel he will spell Ball nice this season and be a quality RB as an upper classman. Most concerning to me was the amount of penalties. 140+ is way too much. As of right now, I don;t think we can beat Wisconsin next week because we still need to work out some kinks, but I still feel our talent is better than ever since Bowden took over.
  6. Let's be honest..that lot doesn't fill up. I don't have access from season tickets but would be interested in organizing a tailgate 1-2x a year. I think it presents the opportunity for a better game day environment.
  7. The put that pic in perspective....the driver had to go through the parking lot, up over the hill, through the gate, through the railing, and down the hill. Where the hell do you have room to go that fast and/or not have time to stop?
  8. dang..choked and a lot of breaks went Tennessee's way,..
  9. Definitely re-wetted the crotch. Still not dead yet though. That was some bad clock management.
  10. BTW something to watch going forward is that the Sunbelt preseason DPOY (Law) has been down a few times. Might just be cramps though...
  11. a ranked Appy State coming to the Info would be pretty damn fun. Road win over #9 and a home win vs. the U...and it might be a real possibility.
  12. For those interested, you can scout Appy State on WatchESPN tonight at 7:30. They go into Neyland to face the probable vastly overrated (again) Volunteers.
  13. NDSU. Quality mid major basketball program, great fan following, and would probably come in and be a contender football wise in the MAC immediately. They also play in a dome... Do agree that Marshall of WKU would be my first choice, though.
  14. My line of thinking is pretty similar to yours, except I picked two or less sacks because 1) Marcus is out, and 2) VMI is a predominately running team, IIRC.
  15. Correct me if I'm wrong, but II think they said it was their first event in Cleveland in 20 years. Absolutely unacceptable considering, outside of Akron, I'd wager the largest alumni base is there.
  16. Sidenote...had a chance to speak with Mr. Larry Williams for about 20 minutes last week at the alumni association meet up in Cleveland. Awesome guy.
  17. Hey...Rodney Coe wore #9!
  18. I think I saw somewhere that 6 members of WMU's 2016 class are no longer on the team for one reason or another.
  19. I can't wait until Kaepernick is cut this weekend, then he won't have to worry about standing every again. I'm sure he'll try to blame his stance as the reason, when in reality it will mostly be because he sucks.
  20. Quick observations....Marcus and Jordan George appear to be out injured. Brian Bell took his spot back over Junius. Hope getting the nod over Jones opposite of Scott.
  21. Bolded section is a load of bull.
  22. darn....you're correct it looks like.
  23. The Chargers are playing on Fox right now. 1st Quarter just ended.
  24. Some good stuff. Kind of makes me scratch my head though... I'd prefer Nelson gets red shirted, but seems like that might not be the case. Chapman at WR seems odd considering how stacked we are at the position. I guess he could have requested it. I am pretty sure Bickley has to sit out this season.
  25. great post with in depth detail
