  1. We got what many thought at the time a nice draw against VCU. We were a 12 seed and basically had home court advantage. We lost by 50.
  2. Can't believe I've actually go suckered into this convo, but TW bashers, please tell me your expectations of a "good" AD. I'd let to see how realistic some's expectations are.
  3. You're reaching. This is common and is most likely happening at every single D1 university. We have had pretty damn good coaching retention if you ask me. As for a-zip, sack up dude. Nothing wrong with people disagreeing with you.
  4. how many tournament wins, final fours, or national championships does Akron account for? What about NIT,? CBT? CBI...?!
  5. +1 if I could. The men's and women's soccer spring exhbition schedules should totally be on GoZips.com and be updated daily. Inexcusable.
  6. while I agree with your overall point, I think that UA does a pretty solid job with your points above. At least in the newer colleges like the CBA. Something like Zook may be another story. I only had one class in there and hardly went.
  7. Is anyone doing either of those in this thread?
  8. good to hear. Stipend can only help with retention I'd figure, and those uniforms were well past due for an upgrade.
  9. We are THE University of Akron.
  10. Because there is a ton more depth in men's basketball compared to women's.
  11. FYI Ohio Tech already exists.
  12. Looking at the whole picture, its good news and bad news. Good news in the sense that there is most likely a QB on the roster better than him right now not named Kyle Pohl (hence the transfer). Bad news in the fact that we are losing most likely the best HS recruit under Bowden before they have even played a down for us. Chapman has two years left right? That means Kincade would have had 2 years to start assuming present circumstances. We also just lost a big commitment from a 2016 QB. We were feeling great about the QB position in regards to depth/talent/experience, now all of the sudden long term and even this season is a huge question mark. We all seen first hand last year in college football how QB depth can make or break your season. All we know right now is that Chapman is the best QB on the roster in practice. If Chapman is the starter and the offense has changed, I'd bet my left nut that Woodson is the back up.
  13. I think Hirschman found a 20th yr of eligibility and I'd rank him 1st.
  14. ZTV Sports ‏@ZTVsports 18m18 minutes ago Talked with head coach Terry Bowden about Spring practice and qb competition. Bowden informed us that Chandler Kincade is transferring
  15. +1 I'm curious to know how their pay wall is working out for them. I know I defer to cleveland.com over them whenever possible because of that very reason. ABJ has a few very good journalists. Too bad that whoever is running ship is holding them back.
  16. Our basketball team is a fan of seven nation army.
  17. According to this article and Bowden himself, it was indeed the search committee that reached out initially. http://grantland.com/features/terry-bowden-akron-plight-mid-major-college-football-program/
  18. was Tressel not apart of the search committee?
  19. I've said it before, but I really don't have an opinion either way of him. There is some irrational dislike for the guy for whatever reason (see exhibit A above). I could do a lot of defending of him if I actually cared.
  20. Just something I wanted to inquire about. What's the chance of getting the 2 like per day limit increased or a limit even removed completely? I feel like I run into the issue all the time where I want to like someone's post but my limit is reached.
  21. Take it FWIW, but I was talking to someone who is "in" with the football program, more specifically involved with recruiting, and they think it was a down year even for Akron's standards. As for myself, I'm sort of indifferent I suppose.
  22. Excited for next season. Way too early to bring it up, but I'd like another early season tournament and one or two big name teams whenever, wherever.
  23. Better without him? Lets be real here.
  24. I like the pick of Buffallo over WVU for a lot of reasons, but two reasons stick out to me the most: 1) Buffalo has a go to player who can carry them and a few other nice ones that can help 2) They are battle tested. Do you guys think they will be fazed playing WVU when they've already played at Kentucky AND Wisconsin?
