  1. Was he a HS teammate of Antino?
  2. good for him. Wish Buffalo could have kept him longer.
  3. I'll be out of town as well. Anyone know anything about whether any recordings will be available?
  4. congrats. VA really killed me.
  5. I'll give credit to GT for a somewhat lengthy article. Few things I found interesting: No mention of Donnell Alexander. Pohl still the starter, and the offense supposedly isn't going over an overhaul.
  6. Bolded part is a fair statement. As for the first part, I care, and so should everyone else. Everyone should value quality discussion. I shouldn't be able to say "our football program is better than NIU" and have it blindly passed off as fact just because this is an Akron board. It really has nothing to do with OSU, thats just the most common example. Should mistakes in my debate with Dave about Depaul not being an attractive program be ignored just because this is an Akron board and not a Depaul board? BUt how dare I correct anything that is wrong about OSU right? I'm clearly some OSU honk who graduated from UA, donates to UA, attends as many UA athletic events as I can and spends all of my time on Akron board just for shits and giggles.
  7. You're the one who chose to push your weird agenda against OSU and their recent history in a thread that has nothing to do with either of them. You said they have been a double digit seed the past few seasons- false. You said the program is in a downward spiral, when there is no evidence to suggest it, besides lower seeding which really means nothing (just ask Mich St.) To keep this thread on topic, I'll worry about Coach D leaving when there is something more than a few random twitter accounts throwing them on their list of 10 candidates.
  8. positive light or negative light has nothing to do with it. I couldn't care less about that honestly. Its the fact that basically anything he posts regarding OSU is blatantly false.
  9. OSU was a 6 seed in 2014 and was ranked nearly all season this year. Had the 11 ranked recruiting class in 2014 and currently have the 6th ranked recruiting class in 2015. Not sure of this downward spiral you speak of.
  10. so are we going to change the offense again when he gets here?
  11. Is there anything to back this up?
  12. I enjoyed watching Pressley. Good luck to him.
  13. ....UT has pretty damn good talent. They weren't ranked top 10 preseason for nothing.
  14. Reports that Gregg Marshall turned down Bama. Also reports that Shaka is taking the TX job.
  15. In my first response I said "Good for the MAC" regarding the decision. My point was that is isn't some monumental decision because there are a lot of organizations/people doing it, and there was a poster trying to make a case for them being "leaders." I appreciate your concern though.
  16. The B1G mentioned nearly a week ago, but I havent seen anything official. Regardless, I was talking about a much wider scope than NCAA conferences.
  17. Interesting...
  18. Good for the MAC, but they aren't setting any trend here, more like following it.
  19. Congrats. Pulling himself up has nothing to do with the rule that you are not allowed to hang on the rim unless its clearly to prevent injury. Him swinging/pulling himself up is what made them think it was taunting. If he didn't and just hung on the rim instead with nobody underneath, it still would have been a T. I'm having trouble seeing whats so hard to comprehend.
  20. Last post on the subject just to clarify. I meant there is nothing to interpret regarding whether he pulled himself up or not, because it doesn't matter. The rule is whether or not he is allowed to hang on the rim, which he clearly did. Whether he did it for showboating/couldn't control it/ was afraid of injury is obviously up for interpretation. From my own personal opinion, and the high school ref who had the credentials to be in the state championship game (no offense zippyman- I appreciate the input), it was a technical .
  21. Appreciate the insight. As for your opinion, time will tell.
  22. I don't see what zippyman was saying that is the opposite of me, besides maybe an opinion of it not being a T. Fact: You are not allowed hanging on the rim besides for very few exceptions (ie. to prevent injury). What was being debated was whether he pulled himself up or not, which is irrelevant. He swung his legs up so far that he kicked the basket support. I've never seen that happen in all of my years of playing/watching..and yes...even reffing basketball. Even Zeke's dunk, with all of 7ft and 240lbs of him, didn't generate enough momentum to kick the basket support. Nobody was under him or even around him. Why would the ref think it was to prevent injury?
  23. There was no judgement to me made by the ref. Whether he pulled himself up or not is besides the point. He hung on the rim, and you aren't allowed doing that in HS (with very few exceptions, none the refs would have thought of in real time without watching the video 50 times), atleast in Ohio.
  24. You're the exception (and my post wasn't targeting you). My point is that there are posters on here now saying the ref should have swallowed the whistle when they had an opposite view during the Can't game.
