  1. You couldn't have said it any better.
  2. Very timely creation of the thread. Our PG play is not the reason we lost last night.
  3. well that bank bullshit 3 just about sums the season up. Just think, if we could have even shot a putrid 50% from the FT line in regulation, we would have one.
  4. are you kidding me?!!?? Why has Johnson not been in for the past 20 minutes?
  5. what a tale of two halves.
  6. no.
  7. should work out about as well as the whole Northwestern and unionizing thing.
  8. I was watching the CMU/Akron women's game at Akron on TV a while ago. Timewarner sports was doing the game, and they showed the score before the commercial break and had "Akron University Golden Flashes". No joke.
  9. Congrats to McCrea as well as the other award winners. Well deserved. I think McCrea definitely should have won it, but am suprised by the margin he won it by. I found the MAC overall to be a much more enjoyable basketball conference to follow than years past. Seems to be some teams stepping up.
  10. Are we really upset about what an OU fan said? Regardless, I don't see that as a reason to diss Hustlebelt. Its a great source for MAC coverage. Let me correct myself, it's the BEST source for MAC coverage. We should be glad there are passionate enough fans to cover the conference and provides in-depth analysis that is for the most part free from bias. Well, at least free from a lot more bias that you will find on any given MAC member board. The truth is, we are going to need somebody to step up next season after Tree is gone. Sorry, Kretzer? Get out of here. I like him and am glad he won the 6th man award, but he is a spot up 3 point shooter and that's it. Not a player who is going to carry the team in the future. I have no problem with them questioning the future, because there are still a lot of doubts. However, I have a lot of confidence in our current crop of freshman as all around basketball players, not just specialists. I think we will be fine, and frankly, if we can't be a consistent top 4 team in the MAC, that's just sad.
  11. I think we do. I also think a lot of people not from the area don't believe/appreciate it.
  12. Bridgewater. Manziel has the most potential, but I could also see him being a huge bust. I dont see Bortles being better than Teddy.
  13. Archer could be a first round pick, but unfortunately for him Al Davis is dead.
  14. I'd take our current overall athletic situation over CCUs
  15. Well Del Duco (who I assume was the head official) has officiated 44 games this season all over the country including a few Stanford games, Balster has done 17 games..seems like a MAC/Horizon league guy, and as of January 12th, Leggs had already done 12 games, with 3 of them including Louisville and Notre Dame. I'd say they are a little more qualified than rec league. Look, I wouldn't even make a comment about the refs if there wasn't some form of complaining about them on here literally after 95% of the time after every game.
  16. Unfortunately, life gets in the way of attending sporting events sometimes. GT rarely writing in his articles about officiating =/= GT rarely ever talking about officiating (twitter). Have you ever been a ref? It isn't easy. You have to make split second decisions that can have a large impact on games. You seriously think they were out to get the Zips? Give me a break. I'm a big fan of accountability, something it seems a lot of people lack. Would the Lady Zips have lost if they wouldnt have fouled the 3pt shooter with 46 seconds left or even let the PG who did absolutely nothing the whole game drive the court and make the game winning lay up with a few seconds left? The answer is no. So people need to quit looking for excuses, admit defeat (albeit a great effort), and get ready for the tournament. I doubt Jodi Kest and the team are blaming the refs for the loss. She teaches them to have a higher standard. "He that is good for making excuses is seldom good for anything else."- Benjamin Franklin
  17. Great win last night and great win on national tv (finally) at that. Happy with the way we ended this season. Definitely on the right note, especially with McAdams having a few ease in games to get some of his legs back before conference tourney time. We can win it, and I'm not sure why...but I'm glad if we win we will be facing WMU in the semis. Probably going to have to beat OU, which we know is no easy task.
  18. Well it wouldn't be an Akron thread if there weren't complaining about officiating. Really wanted to make this game. I've enjoyed watching this group of seniors. Props to the Zips for a great effort without Tecca. Definitely think they can get them in the tourney. Should be an entertaining few days for both the men and women again!
  19. I believe I saw that Lynch did some DB drills at NIU's pro day. Anyone know when Akron's pro day is?
  20. I would have swore it was over 1000 at one point last year, but regardless, great turnout. So pumped to get the W!! Wish I could have made it.
  21. sending my imaginary reps your way.
  22. They also have the best WR we will face all season, and you can take that to the bank.
  23. even simpler than what ZTZ suggested, my suggestion is to put attendants at the bottom of the rows just like they do to get into the lower section. No ticket = no entrance.
  24. Ah, GP1 never missing an opportunity to write a 500 word rant on the "building process". Thanks for sharing, Dave. I knew I could count on you to have something. Mods, probably isn't the right place to inquire about it, but could we possibly get the "like post" feature turned on?
