  1. best article that I have seen about Perry and his new team. I will always remember the poise, the composure, the instincts and the toughness that this young man showed for the Zips in 2010. Perry will always remembered as a gigantic reason why the zips got their first star. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/2016/03/11/perry-kitchen-looks-to-find-recipe-for-success-at-hearts/
  2. Sinneh Kamara was announced by the Columbus Crew academy.......as someone that would be coming to Akron.
  3. http://www.heartsfc.co.uk/news/5038 2.5 year deal for Perry Kitchen
  4. nice photo of Jonathan Lewis....that was posted to zips mens soccer twitter. Welcome to Akron, Jonathan....Looking forward to watching you at Cub Cadet Field in the fall.
  5. http://nesoccertoday.com/?p=41060 I hope that Scott....got a nice pay raise. Glad he gets to play near where he grew up.
  6. they just don't show Victor in the article because they only list players who were selected All-MAC. The biased MAC coaches did not select Victor as one of the best 22 players in the conference. Can you say travesty? joke? laughable? I think top drawer listed Victor as the 20th best player in the country. ZipsNation is certainly glad to have Victor on our team. Great student athlete.......and I hope that a 2nd star is in the future for Victor and Akron soccer.
  7. http://www.goal.com/en-ca/news/4175/major-league-soccer/2016/03/02/20926592/sources-darlington-nagbe-signs-new-deal-with-portland well deserved new contract.....for young Mr. Nagbe and I just read an article.....that Portland vs. Columbus will be televised on espn at 4:30 on Sunday

  9. http://www.oregonlive.com/timbers/index.ssf/2016/03/diego_valeri_darlington_nagbe.html hard to believe that Darlington and Wil will be matching up on Sunday....seems like the season just ended Does anyone know if the Timber-Crew game will be televised on Sunday?

  11. http://www.gozips.com/general/2015-16/Releases/2015_Dean-s_List.pdf?preview=true Congratulations to some true student athletes. The list above.....shows the soccer zips that made the deans list for spring 2015 and fall 2015 listed as making the deans list (above 3.50) are Robbie Dambrot, Dener Dos Santos, Jake Fenlason, Ezana Kahsay, Nate Shultz, Andrew Souders, Victor Souto and Shane Wiedt. 3 zips have an asterisk by their name...indicating a 4.0 GPA....Tyler Sanda, Danilo Radjen and Adam Najem. Great job by all of these young men. They will be honored at halftime of the basketball game against Can't State.

  13. Teal Bunbury scored a goal last night for the revolution. No Darlington Nagbe in the starting lineup for the Timbers...but there were still 2 zips in their starting lineup Timbers XI vs. VAN: Gleeson, Peay, Manning, Valentin, Thoma, Jewsbury (c), Grabavoy, Zemanski, Brett, McInerney, Polk
  14. I knew that Bowling Green had added Chris Brennan, a very good player from Copley. I wanted to see who else that they added and what they said about Chris Brennan I hope that chris Brennan does well....except for when he plays against Akron. http://www.bgsufalcons.com/news/2016/2/4/MSOC_0204165130.aspx BG only added 4 players Western Michigan really had a nice team last year so I wanted to see what they added. they added 4 transfers....most from big name schools...Indiana, Ohio State, Connecticut and Bradley they added 6 recruits...one article says they lost 10 seniors http://www.wmubroncos.com/ViewArticle.dbml?SPSID=24072&SPID=1912&DB_LANG=C&ATCLID=210703887&DB_OEM_ID=4600 http://www.wmubroncos.com/ViewArticle.dbml?SPSID=24072&SPID=1912&DB_LANG=C&ATCLID=210684557&DB_OEM_ID=4600 West Virginia added 15 recruits http://www.wvusports.com/2016signingday/msoccer.html Buffalo added 2 transfers, one domestic recruit and 2 international players I did not take the time to look for NIU info http://www.ubbulls.com/sports/msoc/2016-17/releases/20160205j1nq5t

  19. from zips msoc twitter DeAndre Yedlin entered for Sunderland in the 75th minute today, with his side trailing Liverpool 2-0 & helped them fight back to a 2-2 draw. 7 retweets 20 likes
  20. fantastic article on Alex Mapp Welcome to Akron, Alex. We would love to see you play on a team that goes to the national title game ....like your father.....with a "W" at the end of your title game. Center backs are so vital in soccer. Very happy to read that Akron won out over Coastal Carolina and Bowling Green and others. http://medinagazette.northcoastnow.com/2016/02/05/college-family-ties-lead-highlands-mapp-to-akron-soccer/ small part of the article... the Zips were always No. 1 in the heart of Mapp. Part of that was success, but most of it had to do with the fact his father Pete was the center back on the 1986 Akron team that went 17-4-3 and finished runner-up to Duke in the NCAA Division I Tournament.
  21. very happy to see Richie getting off to a good start in Orlando http://www.orlandosentinel.com/sports/orlando-city-lions/os-orlando-city-new-0205-20160204-story.html
  22. if you go to the zips msoc twitter.....page, they have 8 absolutely classy top notch photos that say Please help us welcome Jesus Perez to the Zips' Men's Soccer Program. @ZipsMSoc...one each for Emmanuel, Nick, Tor, Jonathan, etal they are very impressive. I just wish that some proofreading had been done. The bottom of each photo says ARKON Mens Soccer 2010 National Champions folks, we are AKRON.....not ARKON
  23. http://www.topdrawersoccer.com/college-soccer-articles/mens-soccer:-top-intl-signees-to-watch_aid38818 another article with very positive comments about our 2 additions from Canada. I am also very glad to see that Jeremy Pollard is on campus now and will get to participate in the spring games,
  24. I believe that I have welcomed most of the new players...except for a few... Welcome to Jackson Crawford, Jeremy Pollard and Jonathan Lewis. This looks like a phenomenal class. Great job by Jared, Leo Chappel and Ger Coppinger. When Jared received his contract extension, Anthony Ampaipitakwong (AMPAI) tweeted something to the effect ......"offensive genius"....smart move by Akron. I have to agree wholeheartedly with Ampai. Akron soccer is in excellent shape.....with this coaching staff and the returning players and these exciting additions. Go zips. WE ARE AKRON.
