Another disappointing performance and loss at home. Not sure what the deal was with Bass today. The team is not getting better, in fact they seem to be regressing. Woods played well and brought a lot of energy. Mobley pulled down 17 rebounds, 10 offensive. I think a number of those were off her own missed shots, but credit for sticking with it. Today's giveaway was a nice pink and grey jersey to the first "250" fans. I have to question that a bit. Despite an announced attendance of 800+, there couldn't have been more than 300 people there and they ran out 15 minutes before the game started. I counted the fans on the bench side of the court and there were not more than 100. There sure weren't 700 on my side. I counted maybe up to 100 people including dance team and cheerleaders wearing the jerseys. I wonder what happened to the other 100-150, although I did see a few carrying theirs out still in the bag.

Decent game between two closely matched teams battling to escape last place. Any win on the road is good, though. It's a shame the Zips couldn't have won at home last Saturday against Miami, too. Nice game by Bass playing with foul trouble and Haney bouncing back from Saturday's zero point effort. Hopefully they can build on this with a win on Saturday at home against a middling Arkansas State team. Where was Taponen? I did not see her on the bench.

I appreciate that Enrique (and Bass) and other bigs are trying to expand their range by shooting 3 pointers, but wouldn't it be better if they just shot from the top of the key or the elbow? Seems like that would open up the lane for them if wanted just as well and it should be an easier shot. ๐ค

I'm sure she is working hard and has played OK. Phenomenal is a bit of a stretch. Motivational coach speak, I guess. Nobody has looked phenomenal since MAC play started.

Zips lose to Miami 58-48. A very disappointing loss and not a particularly inspired effort IMO. Bass battled with 13/12, but went 4-11 from the FT line. Haney had no points. Bad loss at home. Nuts.

What do you suppose they're charging for parking for track meet in Lot 10? ๐ค

Toledo beats the Zips 88-66. Down 17 at half, the Zips cut deficit to 9 in 3Q at one point. Second half was at least a little more entertaining.

Well, kinda. ๐

Zips women squeak by with a 61-59 much needed road win at NIU. Huskies had three shots to tie it on last possession with final close in attempt rolling around the rim and falling off. ๐ซฃ

Bass didn't even get a shot off in the first half. ๐ณ

Here's an idea, if you're going to turn the lights out for player introductions maybe you should have a spotlight on them. Now they run out in the dark. ๐ -
29-26 other women at half after Zips led 19-10. Zips really need better efforts from Haney and Riley in second half.

Halftime show on ESPNU (cable).

They've mentioned both being out a couple times.

Zips women really need a win Saturday against Kent.

Do they ever run that Roo Express bus on a loop from downtown and the Exchange Street dorms to the JAR? Seems like on a night like this it would be ideal.

It always reminds me of back in the day walking across campus from Olin Hall to Auburn Science Center for my next class. It still brings a tear to my eye. ๐ฅถ -
Looks like a full fledged splint to me. He went right to the locker room after he hurt it near the Zips bench. Looks like x-rays in his future.

Here's an idea, if you are going to market student section tickets to the general public don't allow those students to stand the whole game and block the view. I knew it was a possibility with school starting next week, but I watched the other games during the break and no one was standing. We've moved to other seats easily as a number of others have, but just an example of lack of coordination. ๐คจ -

I've gotten by for years with mostly $15-18 caps and $20-25 long sleeve t-shirts from Walmart or the old Campus Book Supply store on Exchange that are still holding up. Walmart has almost nothing anymore and the book store on Exchange is no longer the same business. I'm curious about what ended up at the Salvation Army. I agree the idea is to get the merchandise out there in as many places you can at different price points. We need exposure. -

Kind of strange to raise tickets prices during the season, but it might be that variable ticket pricing like a lot of professional teams do these days. Now we're in the thick of the MAC schedule and the holidays are over ticket prices are raised. My 6 game mini plan tickets were only $25 each, so I'm saving even more money now. ๐ -
Looking back at their schedule, their losses have been respectable (within 10 or less) except for three blowouts. One to Michigan State and one to Cleveland State. Maybe that's their stage of development now. Respectable losses. I think the Zips let down a little after the Ball State game, though.

Zips women beat CMU (1-11) 70-62 in a win that was harder than it should have been. I guess a win is a win.

From what I see basketball parking for PCCC games is free or $3 depending on day of week and location and at YSU it's free. Enough said. I have no problem with a $5 fee. $10 is ridiculous. Not to mention $4 for a bottle of water and $6 for a 32 oz. pop. (How about $3 for a 16 oz drink?) -
I stand by my observation. ๐ It was right in front of me. Groce was at the other end of the court and Tribble's back was to him when he spoke at the ref. I'm sure there was plenty of prior trash talk to bring on the T.
