  1. Meanwhile in the matchup of the day, Toledo leads 42-35 at the half at Ball State.
  2. Should be an interesting game coming up shortly. Two teams fighting for Cleveland, one with a coach already told she will not be back and the other in the 4th year of a 5 year contract and a dismal record after taking over a winning program. It's Senior Day, so maybe our departing women will turn it on. Or will Miami's solid trio of Scott, Wolf and Cluse fight to make it to the tournament and help their coach hang on? ๐Ÿค”
  3. I guess it's good that the Zips played Toledo tough at home, but frankly they should be competitive for every home game. I'm not much into moral victories at home. The women have lost 8 of their last 10 MAC games. They still haven't beaten a MAC team with a winning record and are now in a 4 way tie for the 5 thru 8 spot. They really need to beat Miami on Saturday to keep Cleveland chances alive before heading to Buffalo and CMU to end the regular season. Those should be winnable games.
  4. I think the Zips had 5 turnovers in the first three minutes of the 3Q to put Toledo ahead and get them rolling.
  5. And probably find a place to hide. ๐Ÿ™ƒ
  6. About time for tipoff against Toledo. Lonasia Brewer no longer on Rockets roster.
  7. Groce's postgame comments should be entertaining. ๐Ÿ˜ฌ
  8. You mean you don't think they'll give it the same exposure as the sports page front story today on the Kent game? ๐Ÿ˜‰ I certainly don't know what coach Jackson will do, but I wonder if she might want take a year off after 15 years and her impending arrival and two young boys already. Maybe not. All the power to her whatever she wants to do, she's certainly earned it.
  9. 71-40 after 3Q. Last one out turn off the lights. Toledo up next at home. ๐Ÿ˜ฌ
  10. Lady Flushes blitz Zips 28-10 in 1Q. It may be a long afternoon. ๐Ÿ˜ณ
  11. I turned on the second half in time to hear the female announcer talking about Santiago looking so good in warmups shooting with his left hand with a cast in his right and maybe becoming ambidextrous. The guy is left handed. ๐Ÿ™„
  12. Ah yes, I remember it well. ๐Ÿ˜„
  13. Closer than it should have been, but what the heck Northern Illinois beat Bowling Green at the Stroh Center tonight! Martindale has had trouble popping open for a while now.
  14. Really big game for the women tonight. A loss would drop them into the #8-10 place group and threaten MAC Tournament qualifying. They handled the Emus in Ypsilanti earlier this year, so they should be able to prevail at home. Time to start strong and keep it going.
  15. Latest bracket. Not sure I like the new 4/5 matchup. ๐Ÿค”
  16. Tonight's announced attendance - 2,122. ๐Ÿ˜„
  17. I've pretty much gone from the glass is half full to at best half empty now. The women have lost 5 of 6 and have yet to beat a MAC team with a winning record. Unless things turnaround quickly even getting to Cleveland will be a quick exit.
  18. Nice comeback to make it a game in the 4Q. But, Ball State had 21 points on 23 Zips turnovers. Ballgame. ๐Ÿ˜ต
  19. Over. One step forward. Two steps back. ๐Ÿคจ
  20. You (or maybe just I) can't help but compare the two programs since both coaches took over the same year with both programs on a significant downturn. We certainly seemed to at least miss a chance to at least talk to Froelich while we waited for Kest to step away after two terrible years. Although she sputtered a bit I think Froelich had the easier task due to a BGSU program with a much greater history of success and fan support. Jackson must also hold some of the responsibility for those two bad seasons since she was the top assistant and I think head of recruiting. There's still time to turn things around, but there can't be any more performances like last night. Need to win the remaining home games and beat Can't and Canada at their place. It could happen...๐Ÿฅด
