  1. I noticed he did spend extra time talking to Melissa and each of our seniors and Bass in the handshake line. He obviously has an opinion on the situation.
  2. Not exactly. Ali was on this team and a key piece last year. He certainly would have helped this year assuming he wouldn't have the same injuries here. Hopefully Hunter can keep stepping up. Hankerson has been disappointing.
  3. As much as I would have to liked to have seen Coach Jackson be more successful, I can see the argument to move on. Yes 74-68 overall is a winning record (barely), but I suspect 40-50 in the MAC is the main number and finishing 8-10 after a 4-1 start is not a good way to keep your job when your contract is up. If she hasn't received a good explanation for not being renewed as she says, she certainly deserves better after 15 years at the university. Although the numbers above certainly seem to explain it.
  4. Zips are #6 seed and will play #3 Ball State in the last game on Wednesday. I've tried to attach the whole bracket graphic, but it says the file is too big. Worked fine for men's.
  5. Women rally 21-8 in 4Q to beat CMU 61-54. Probably not the first time a bad CMU team has failed to close this year, but credit to the Zips for coming back on the road.
  6. I see it now from link provided. Still wondering about lottery.
  7. What is the discount? You have to sign in to see it. Has anyone seen anything about an Ohio Lottery promotion?
  8. As much as I usually hate losing to the Golden Flushes, this one doesn't bother me that much. We whipped them in Cleveland last year and at the JAR earlier this year. Never folded tonight and took them to OT at their place. No reason we can't beat them in Cleveland next week if it happens. X needs to step up though. Carry really outplayed him tonight obviously.
  9. Apparently we were fortunate to play Miami twice.
  10. Here's the latest. Not sure how Zips are seeded ahead of WMU when they have the same record and Zips lost at Kalamazoo. πŸ€”
  11. No one shot it well, but they kept within striking distance after getting blitzed 21-10 in the 1Q πŸ™„. Gotta win on Saturday at Mt. Pleasant to avoid a bunch of tiebreakers. No excuses for losing to 3-14 CMU. I'm gonna guess that if Buffalo loses to Western, they would be in. They beat EMU twice and split with Buffalo. Not sure what tiebreakers come after that.
  12. Unlikely. His right hand was in a cast a couple of weeks ago on the Friday night game. I believe the middle finger thru pinky were enclosed, at least the last two fingers. I think the announcer said he was done for the year.
  13. Considering the article was written by "staff reports" they probably didn't even have anyone there. Of course, they could have at least revised the caption instead of repeating the one from the Kent game a few weeks ago. πŸ™„
  14. In case you missed it and/or are curious, Coach Jackson said she is having a girl yesterday on the postgame radio interview. Nice addition to the two boys. πŸ‘ΆπŸ‘¦πŸ§‘
  15. Agree, it was an entertaining game to watch. Seems to me Miami should be better. Scott was cold from outside, but had 8 assists and 3 steals. Their bigs were good around the basket, too.
  16. She's usually been playing 30 minutes or more (including 35 today), so she's spent a lot of time on the court, just not scoring. She's had trouble getting open for shots all year though. Maybe there's a reason for that.
  17. Bullettes shoot 69.8% FG and whoop Falconettes 84-66 at the Stroh Center 😯
  18. Meanwhile in the matchup of the day, Toledo leads 42-35 at the half at Ball State.
  19. Should be an interesting game coming up shortly. Two teams fighting for Cleveland, one with a coach already told she will not be back and the other in the 4th year of a 5 year contract and a dismal record after taking over a winning program. It's Senior Day, so maybe our departing women will turn it on. Or will Miami's solid trio of Scott, Wolf and Cluse fight to make it to the tournament and help their coach hang on? πŸ€”
  20. I guess it's good that the Zips played Toledo tough at home, but frankly they should be competitive for every home game. I'm not much into moral victories at home. The women have lost 8 of their last 10 MAC games. They still haven't beaten a MAC team with a winning record and are now in a 4 way tie for the 5 thru 8 spot. They really need to beat Miami on Saturday to keep Cleveland chances alive before heading to Buffalo and CMU to end the regular season. Those should be winnable games.
