Why not promote this on social media sooner than the day of the game? It's still not on Facebook that I see. I think they mentioned it at the women's game, but I only heard the end of the announcement.

I went to the game yesterday. I was a bit interested to see a contest between two new coaches trying to rebuild their programs, not to mention we might have had an interest in Fralick if Kest had retired earlier. There was a good crowd with plenty of BG fans. It looked like the Zips women were going to roll, but BG rallied to make it a game. To their credit, the Zips women didn't fold and won. So far they've won the MAC games they should (WMU had their two leading scorers out with injuries and their team MVP from last year is redshirting for medical reasons). It sure beats watching them lose 19 MAC games in a row. Hopefully Coach Jackson can keep them playing tough for their game against the EMUs on Wednesday.

I consider the SID's Game Notes a more current, reliable source than the website. Especially since others have said he has not been on the sidelines lately. Then again his name was last in the roster box, maybe it dropped off the bottom of the page.

For those looking for Khadim Gueye, his name has now disappeared from the roster on the first page of tomorrow's game notes.

It would have been nice to see a few guys with more D1 experience.

Or schedule games against the better teams in the WAC, SWAC, or Horizon league. Chicago State, Alabama State, and Detroit were a combined 19-76 last year. Add in Cedarville and Carnegie Mellon and there is nothing to peak my interest at least. I guess Tennesse State was at least decent at 15-15. I know a lot of teams stock up victories over lesser teams in their OOC games, but I don't pay to see those games either.

Seriously? Good for you. Our home schedule this year is one of the reasons I didn't get season tickets this year for the first time in years. Only Marshall game and MAC games for me.

I don't like the 2 pm Saturday games either, but was told last year the reason was "We moved to afternoon games to provide more rest and recovery time for the student-athletes between games. This also allows them to spend time with their families after the game at a reasonable hour. This also allows for visiting teams to travel back home earlier instead of in the middle of the night. It is a student-athlete welfare decision on our part." I get it, but too bad they don't apply that same logic to weekday November football games.

So UA will pay about a million dollars total for Bowden not to coach AND to buy out Arth to leave UTC to coach Zips. Apparently the university has more money than they let on.

So the leading candidate LW has zeroed in on is a coach that moved up two levels and took over a 36-16 team over 4 years and turned them into a 9-13 team that finished this year losing 5 of its last 7 games? That warrants a jump to another level? Can we look some more?

For what it's worth, this was the other side at the beginning of the game on Friday. A few more came. I asked on FB about the chair/blanket thing and they gave me a smart ass answer about people having a lucky chair or blanket. I think they just didn't think there was enough demand to pull out the bleachers. I don't know how much effort or time it takes to pull the bleachers out. We'll see what happens tomorrow.

I went to my first women's game this year today against Butler, picked to finish 7th out of 10 in the Big East this year. I thought it might be a bit of a reality check this time of year and it was. Zips hung tough for a while, but got outscored 24-12 in the 3Q and lost by 16. Trailed by as many as 23. Edmonds still did not play again due to disciplinary reasons I believe. Sefcik only got off 6 shots. Still a lot of work to do for the team.

Yeah, I saw the Hulu sign in. I thought for a second I was going to have to watch the start on my phone.

A little "Blue and Gold" would be great after a goal. I agree there are fewer opportunities for cheer teams, but they can fit a few game action Z-I P-S cheers in. Plus how about some pregame hype rather than watching ESPN2 talking heads on an unrelated show? A game host would help, too. (Is Willy in Santa Barbara?) All I heard was a female voice on the PA after the game thanking us for coming. I don't want to be too critical, but this could be much more of an event with a little more effort. That's how you grow a fan base.
