I am pretty confident that all of the hard work put into this coupled with all of the complex computations and predictive data will result in the MAC getting exactly one team into the NCAA tournament.
As a point of reference, WVSU lost to our old friends the Concord Grapes. DII school, also plays Notre Dame College. Seems about right.
I wish the kid luck. I don't think there was a place for him in the Zips' future, but the kid always seemed to have a good attitude and played hard.
That's a sorry commentary on the state of University of Illinois basketball if they have a spot for De La Rosa. On his 4th school and averaging only 11 points and 7 rebounds in the MAC last which wasn't exactly teeming with quality big men.
I hope they have room left to add Virshon Cotton to the roster.
Edit- I missed that Cotton signed with LIU Brooklyn. Damn, seemed like a match made in heaven.
I don't know whether it's a good or bad hire. I'm just always a little hesitant to get excited when you push out a coach because you are unhappy with the direction of a program and then you hire an assistant that was a part of the same program that was going in the wrong direction. My hope of course is that their familiarity with her helped establish that she is indeed the person for the job and that she was a bright spot on the former staff.
Damn JuCos!
If this is true, the sins should follow the sinner, not be used against an entirely new team and staff. However, if that was the case, Calipari would be waiting tables at the IHOP.
Exactly. With every day that passes the new coach is further hampered in recruiting and preparing for next season. No reason you can't interview and figure out who the coach will be with an effective date down the line. Any chance there's an inside candidate already in line for the job?
Maybe they're looking for one person to coach women's basketball and men's baseball.
Amen. I'd rather see the impact than have a similar experience to some of the other MAC schools that are perpetually mediocre while hanging onto the same coach who never does well enough to move on.
