  1. I just did the math for the last 2 Zips home games- NIU and BG. In those two games, the Zips shot a total of 32 free throws. Their opponents shot 76. How is that possible?
  2. All in all, a decent performance against a not very good NIU team. The kids continue grow. Happy to see Utomi starting to get back in the groove. Wasn't happy with Ivey, Parrish and Duvivier's composure at times.
  3. Nice last minute for a Larry, Curly and Moe, the refs.
  4. I haven't seen this many travels called in a game in a while.
  5. Letting them creep back in.
  6. Good half overall. Need to stop or limit any second half run.
  7. This could be the best crowd of the year.
  8. Nice to see Cotton starting.
  9. Nice to see E-man and Sayles, even if in street clothes.
  10. Plenty of bobblehead vouchers at the back door when we showed up 5 minutes ago. Women's game must have really pulled a carry-over crowd!
  11. After a win over the Zips and a Cheribundi Cherry Tart C Boca Raton Bowl victory, what else was there really out there for the young man? It doesn't get better than that!
  12. Don't let him fool you. Back in his day, he posted on cave walls!
  13. Yes, he is sitting for the year. My point was that it's already happening before the rule change. With the change, it will only get worse. I would propose that the rule be changed immediately yet only temporarily for the sole purpose of getting Jackson, Hester and Riak on the floor now!
  14. Unfortunately, "upward mobility" has now become a part of the college game. Michael Weathers who bailed on Miami to head to Oklahoma State after a big freshman year is just one example.
  15. Only 2 on the whole roster and Clark (nice name!) is the only one that contributes.
  16. I'm afraid Canada is the class of the MAC this season. Decent size, fast and athletic, deep with many interchangeable parts. I could see them having an off shooting night, but even then a team would have to play awfully well to knock them off.
  17. Thanks to the mod that combined my thread with this one. I forgot this one was out there!
  18. The 9-9 Huskies of Northern Illinois come into the JAR Saturday to face the Zips as part 2 of a doubleheader with the women’s team, with tip-off scheduled for 4:30. The Huskies are 2-3 in MAC play having beaten PCCC and EMU at home and having lost to Buffalo, BG and OU on the road. The Huskies are led by 6 foot sophomore guard Eugene German at 19.7 ppg and 6-7 junior wing Levi Bradley at 6/1 rpg. They average 73.8 points per game and give up 73.5. It is also President Wilson bobblehead night. You have to show up before the women’s game for your voucher and present it at half of the men’s game. Let's hope to follow up last Saturday's exciting win with another home victory.
  19. From what I could stomach watching, I saw guys flashing to the elbows and the foul line against the zone, but the Zips seemed hesitant to to make the pass. They also seemed hesitant to penetrate to get the zone to collapse then kick it out. I was happy with the deceased dribbling against the zone overall as compared to earlier in the year, but the lack of overall aggression on offense killed them all night. I'd also like to see them push the ball in transition to pressure the defense before it is able to set up. Happy to see a little breakout by Parrish. Utomi is in a real funk and looks a little lost. Given his high school stats, I'd guess he hasn't seen a lot of adversity on the basketball court. Hopefully, it is a short term slump that he can play his way out of, or the Zips' difficult season may become a miserable one.
  20. I'm curious dre, just what were your expectations?
  21. One need look no further than this and the BG game to see the wild inconsistency in MAC officiating.
  22. Couple of awful possessions to start half, like they surprised them with the zone.
  23. Yep, funny that he's not on GoZips.com yet. Show you just how much of a surprise he's been.
