While it is a loss, I am pleased with where this team is now. If you'd have told me at the start of last season that we'd play with the 19th team in the country 4 games into this season, I'd have taken it without hesitation.

I think Monday will give us our first real insight as to what we have in this team.

If we are what we watch, we're all $h!+.

If Bowden does come back next year he'll have to personally pick me up, drive me to the damn games and put me up in a box with Kate Upton to get me to spend three hours in that tomb watching that mess.

After the BG TD with 8 minutes left, the Akron return team went out to the wrong side of the field. I think that's a pretty decent summation of the leadership of this team. They were beaten by a 2 win team on their home field on senior day. Damn embarrassing.

Game 3- Chicago State Cougars

No, I am too cheap for that. Gave up my power bowl seats 3 or 4 years ago. I alternate sitting in the north bleachers looking right down on the bench with sitting at center court all the way at the top. -
Game 3- Chicago State Cougars

He is what he is. He got on the floor a lot last year due to injuries and depth issues in the transition. He's the rare kid who will play less in his sophomore year than his freshman year. If some day he is an 8 point, 5 rebound guy, he'll have done well with is skill set. If we see more than 6 or 8 minutes a game from him this season, we'll know the Zips are in trouble. -

I sat above the bench tonight and I am really liking the bench dynamic. No pouters or whiners and everyone is engaged and involved, even the redshirts. -

I think he's going to start taking some time away from Poke. He had a nice showing tonight. Toles looked lost on both ends, bu he is still settling in. Glad to see our kids not back down to the thugs. -

I guess if you played for one of the ten worst D1 teams in the NCAA you would get a little pissy. There might well be more yet. -

This team is awful. I expected them to get surly. -

I haven't been this excited for a Zips game since the last time Coppin State came to town. -
Two interesting Josh stats- * He got to the free throw line just once, making both shots. * He’s attempted four times as many three’s (336) than two’s (82) over his career.

Two kids will figure out (maybe with the help of the coaching staff) that UA is not the place for them.

Just read an article from NBC Sports on Player of the Year Power Rankings. The top 3 were RJ Barrett from Duke, Zion Williamson from Duke and CJ Massinburg from Buffalo. Wow.

I think GT has "virtually forgotten" how to be a reporter. -

Good call. I noticed that too. Just poor planning by someone. -

I realize that, but to say he was "virtually forgotten" is perplexing. -

Our old friend GT made the following stellar observation in his article about the game- Another key difference was getting big man Deng Riak involved. Riak added 14 points and led the team with seven rebounds. It proved to be a vast difference from the season opener when it looked as if the 6-foot-10, 225-pound transfer from East Carolina University was virtually forgotten. Apparently, GT wasn't at the Cedarville game. Against Cedarville, he played 25 minutes and had 7 field goal attempts and 6 free throw attempts. Against YSU, he played 26 minutes and had 8 field goal attempts and 3 free throw attempts. I guess one fewer minute put him in the class of virtually forgotten. I get more from reviewing the box score than I get from a GT article. -
The Cougars of Chicago State come into the JAR Friday night. They lave lost their first three games against Indiana (104-55), Notre Dame (89-62) and Central Michigan (101-60). Anthony Harris, a 6-5 senior guard, leads the team at 14 ppg. An article previewing the Indiana game included the following gems: Indiana will open their season against an opponent that went without a head coach for nearly FIVE MONTHS. Safe to say things are as low as a program can go as Chicago State has only won 13 games over the past three years. Things don’t look up for this team as KenPom has them placed near the bottom of all of Division I men’s basketball at 344th place out of 353 total teams with their only projected wins at the moment coming against Non-Division I schools.

Will Bowden get a contract extension?

Naaaah, they get to play on Tuesday nights on ESPN 27.
