  1. Tough road from undrafted free agent to an NFL roster. At best, he'll now go into camp as the 6th or 7th receiver on the Broncos. The kid is a talented athlete but he needed more time at WR before making that jump. Too bad he didn't have the proper guidance or didn't listen.
  2. Nice yet. Sure seems like he'll be worth the wait. I'm really liking how Groce is putting this all together despite getting a late start.
  3. I thought all Groce guard recruits were 6-2 and over! I don't care if they're 3 feet tall if they can play.
  4. Hard to miss something you never really had.
  5. Assuming Antino is gone as many suggest, isn't it time to move on?
  6. That does make a difference. I thought he was a sophomore, but I see now he's a red shirt freshmen. As I recall, those are better freshman numbers than Big Dog, but who knows what the situation was at ECU.
  7. 3 points and 5 rebounds PPG on an below average team. Any idea why he left ECU?
  8. Any other qualifications to your original statement? The coaches and media vote on MAC Player of the Year. It wasn't even remotely close. I distinctly recall people pi$$ing and moaning about Zeke until he was gone and we had to watch Forsythe for a couple if years. Sure. Big Dog had defensive shortcomings, much like Zeke had offensive shortcomings, but to deride his contribution is ridiculous.
  9. I know this is where we've come at a society, but I really hate this whole process of the countdowns, press conferences, putting on the hats, etc.......
  10. Wait...there are guards over 6 feet tall? I can't imagine Collins passing up a chance to play with Dunn Martin and Hughes.
  11. If it was based on offensive numbers, wouldn't Marcus Keene have been POY? I realize there's a whole lot of butt hurt in Zipland, but let's transfer that hurt into enthusiasm for the new regime, not revisionist history. Sure, it's painful that we're in a period of transition, but that doesn't need to result in the knee jerk reaction that everything under the prior regime was substandard.
  12. Without waiving my right to not give a $h!+ about Duquesne recruiting- Dear Keith- wrong Weathers.
  13. I think the kid show promise and I wish only the best for him and the Zips, but please, please, please don't forget, what we are seeing are his HIGHLIGHT VIDEOS.
  14. From what I saw online, it looks like he grew quite a bit (6-8 to 6-11) from his sophomore to senior year. As a senior he looks a little "solid". It then looks like he lost weight at IMG.
  15. He only averaged roughly 17 points and 8 rebounds a game. The coaches of the MAC voted him to the preseason All -MAC team and he was then named MAC player of the year. I guess he really was a 'BIG DOG." In the long line of Zips MAC players of the year, he was one of the 5 or 10 worse.
  16. Maybe it's just me, but since he's not the coach of the Zips, I don't give a rat's @$$ who Dambrot's recruiting.
  17. Kostelac looks decent. Tough to tell much from the size and speed of the competition in some of his video, but he seems fairly nimble for his size with some touch. Let's not forget, you can't teach 6-11.
  18. That's quite an assessment of a team playing without at least 21 of its players.
  19. I sat next to Barry McCockenner.
  20. Yep, losing the MAC PLAYER OF THE YEAR and a SECOND TEAM ALL- MAC PLAYER are inconsequential losses.
  21. It's not depression, it's REALITY. I'll still show up and root for the Zips and I am confident he'll get decent players, but this is clearly a year of rebuilding and transition.
  22. I think it is very safe to assume the Zips are in for a down year. They lost the 3 players with MAC honors, the starting point guard, their 6th man, three reserves expected to contribute substantially and 4 starters. I hope for big things from Groce, but being a miracle worker is not one of them.
  23. I hope to hell we didn't lose Adrian, Coppin State and Radford!
  24. Are you suggesting that academics should be the priority of a university rather than sports? Blaspheme!
  25. $5 million buys a much nicer native American museum than it does an arena.
