  1. Pretty good, and HE HAS ALL THE INTANGIBLES. 😁
  2. He's also the kind of player that....LEAVES IT ALL ON THE FLOOR!
  3. The Freeman/Osobor matchup tonight should be a good one. Osobor is 6'8" and appears to be pretty good in the post and on the pick and roll. He also tends to draw a lot of fouls down low. Here's hoping Enrique doesn't get in foul trouble. Oddly, the Utah State website lists him as a "wing." He's clearly a big.
  4. 7:30. https://caymanislandsclassic.com/sports/2023/6/27/mens 2023 bracket.aspx
  5. With the win over FIU, the Zips advance to face 3-1 Utah State. Utah State put an impressive 23 point thumping on Marshall to advance. They were led by 6'8" junior wing Great Osobor's 18 points and 13 rebounds. Utah State was picked to finish 9th (out of 11) in the Mountain West preseason poll. Osobor is averaging 21.3 and 10.5 rpg on the season.
  6. The basketball Zips could teach the football program about how to finish.
  7. Yep, these are the ones you need to guy out when you're not hitting on all cylinders.
  8. Sammy has to contribute more on the boards. Enrique can't do it all.
  9. Need a run here. Kaleb Thornton is our best PG right now. The maturity he brings coupled with his ability get the ball to others in the right spot are what this team needs.
  10. I hope he some day gets to rub it in while playing his mentor like that POS Shaka did with KD.
  11. 8 scorers for the first 33 points. I love the balance and the ability of everyone in the rotation to score.
  12. Our possible opponent in the Caymans tournament, Utah State, put a serious whoopin' on perennial powerhouse South Dakota Mines a couple of weeks ago.
  13. Mr. Pinky does not use crayons. He uses a whiteboard (with permanent markers).
  14. I dare you to look them in the eye and say "no videos please."
  15. One thing I am looking forward to seeing more of is that shift where Dawson, Scott and Thornton come in together. Those three teamed with Sammy or Nate with Enrique was as effective or more effective than Tavari, Tribble and Nate with Sammy and Enrique. Thornton is a very good distributor. Thanks to Xavier and Hankerson for helping to get him here.
  16. Just wait until they realize the new parking company is charging them $10 to park. I think OHSAA allows the schools to charge $5, but who knows about places like UA.
  17. Walsh knows there's no I in team. They left it all on the floor.
  18. Their losses to OSU and Illinois were by 6 and 11. Oddly, they were beaten in a scrimmage by Walsh.
  19. I don't know, there might be a lot of cleanup from those 6 fans at the UA/OU game!
  20. Drake is the only other team in the tournament without a loss thus far, but they've beaten 2 stiffs. Oakland is 1-2 but lost to OSU and Illinois and put a 19 point thumping on BG. Loyola Marymount is 2-1, beating two unknowns and losing to Yale. SAF is 2-1 with two wins over questionable competition and a 5 point loss to Middle Tennessee. Marshall is 1-1 with a loss to Radford and a win over Queens. Utah State is 2-1 with a loss to Bradley.
  21. It's senior day so I hope you have some company. It's a shame the game is Friday night as the OHSAA might be bale to use the field for some good football otherwise.
  22. We can P!$$ and moan about the refs but the Zips are a two win team due to $h!++y football, not the refs. You can't give up a 59-yard drive for a TD to end the first half and a 66-yard drive for a field goal to end the second half to a team that lost to UMASS.
  23. The 3-0 Zips head off to the Cayman Islands Classic Basketball Tournament this weekend. The other teams competing in the tournament are Florida International (FIU), Drake, Utah State, Stephen F. Austin, Loyola Marymount, Oakland and Marshall. The tournament will be broadcast by FloSports. The Zips open on Sunday with FIU. FIU was ranked 7th of the 9 teams in the Conference USA preseason poll. 5'11" sophomore guard Arturo Dean was named to the preseason first team. As a freshman, Dean averaged 11.9 points per game, 4.1 rebounds per game, dished out a team-high 122 assists and played 29.7 minutes per game. He was the Freshman of the Year in the CUSA. This year he's leading the team with 11.7 ppg and 3.7 rpg. So far, they are 0-3 with losses to University of Miami, Tarleton State and Central Florida. If the Zips win they play the winner of Marshall/Utah State.
  24. I love that Groce was on them the whole game. In the post game he said that he told the vets late in the game that he wasn't coaching them hard at that point to beat Heidelberg. It was about getting better for down the line.
