  1. He's looking for a big time football school yes, but it doesn't neccesarily have to be Ohio State. Don't always believe what you read. If no other big school came calling I'm sure he wouldn't turn down an OSU offer however. I still will cross my fingers he comes to Akron though, but not holding my breath.
  2. I've heard he is not interested in OSU.
  3. I know the "new stadium" thing has been used too much, I just mentioned it because this year it is actually going to be opened. I am just saying that there is no way those three schools in particular should ever be able to out-recruit us. When I look at the actual signings so far, we look decent, but once they all come in I think we will not be near the top.
  4. I'm sorry, but so far I'm not impressed. Looking at the other MAC schools, ours has to be the worst. If we were ever going to have a great class it should be this year with the new stadium opening. I just can't understand it.If I couldn't out recruit EMU, Toledo and especially Can't. I would hang it up right now! This just makes me ill.
  5. I have a question. I've never been able to make it to the Spring game, but may be able to this year finally. Do I need tickets or what do I need to do exactly?
  6. I don't like the matchup with FSU, but if we can get by them the bracket is good for us. I'm not complaining, I'm just glad we are still playing!
  7. If Can't wins, good for the MAC!If Can't loses, good for Can't! I won't lose sleep either way.
  8. It's always nice to see someone pat themselves on the back, but you were clearly talking about some guy named Woods, not Wood.Woods DEFINITELY will play. Nick Dial told me so.LOL. Nice.
  9. I totally agree. It would be nice to beat VCU, but that game really is of little importance in the big picture.
  10. Next year will certainly be interesting. It's definitley going to be a new look Zips without Romeo, Dru, Wood, Dials, Cedrick or Quade. It will be interesting to see how things shake out and who steps up where. As far as I can see the roster looks like this next year.G: Steward, Roberts, McNees, Coblentz, Brooks, Sullivan, McClanahan, HitchensF: C.McKnight, B. McKnight, Linhart, Conyers, Caroll, Cvetinovic, ParrishC: Swiech, BardoI've got no idea how this whole thing will work out. About the only thing I can say for sure is that Nate will start at SF. Beyond that it's anyone's guess. Especially at those guard spots. McNees and Roberts would seem to have the edge up on everyone there, but you've got tons of talent in Steward, McClanahan, Hitchens, Sullivan, even Rydell Brooks could make some noise. The big thing I'm interested to see though is how the C spot works out. Can Bardo and Swiech combine to give us 40 minutes of beef in the center or are we going to continue to have to play small at times??? It's going to be interesting.I see a lot of 3 guard sets for next season! It would be hard to keep 6 of those guards on the bench for any extended amount of time. Wow, this is a great problem to have!
  11. Coach D says he will not play anyone that does not play defense, B. McKnight does not play defense, if Coach D keeps his word, we wont see him anymore....Did anyone really play any defense in last night's game? It was really a team effort of bad defense. OK I will probably get slammed for this, but sometimes IMHO I think offense wins games, there I said it! This defense wins games gets old to me, if you noticed last night, offensively we shot terrible, if we made half those shots, and still played terrible defense we would of won! Ok let the slamming begin.....Obviously defense is important, but when the team as a whole is struggling with it recently, why not put all of our "scorers" on the court and have at it. It would definitley be interesting to see at least once.

  13. As KD mentioned in the article, it is much harder to come back quickly when you are 6-6 250. I have plenty of experience getting busted up...ankels, knees, legs, etc. I'm 6' 2'' 240 and can tell you that what KD says is absolutely true. A small guy can come back much faster. I'm hoping Wood can make a speedy recovery and contribute in the MAC Tourney and hopefully beyond, but I'm not going to hold my breath.
  14. Has anyone heard anything in regard to whether or not Larry Dawson has given a verbal to a school yet? I know we were interested in him at one point, but haven't heard a thing in several months. Are we still trying to recruit him?
  15. I'm guessing we won't know anything for sure until NLOI day next week.
  16. According to Rasor's blog he has a source claiming we have received a verbal from WR Deryn Bowser. Sounds like a big time WR that can really help us immediately! I hope this source is correct.6'3" 215 lbs 4.5 40
  17. "After being his coach for the last four years, sometimes he can be frustrating," Cavs coach Gary Kellough said of Hitchens. "He'll have those games where he doesn't get going at all, then there will be ones like tonight. Nobody can play at this kind of level all the time, but this shows you what he's capable of."The above quote shows that he can be streaky, but with more coaching by KD I can really see him being a top player in the MAC in a few years.
  18. Here are the teams I would like to have a potential matchup with in order of preference.Creighton (would love to get a shot to avenge the NIT loss from 06)DrakeGeorge MasonVCUWright StateNevadaDavidson
  19. I totally agree GP1. I was thinking the same thing.
  20. And why not contact WV, maybe Huggins will play us. They can play us at the JAR and everyone from WV can see his nice banner.
  21. Coach D says he wants to get it down to a 9 man rotation though, so who will be left out I wonder? If Roberts and B. McKnight continue to gel and get better I would think that Conyers and C. McKnight would be the odd men out in a 9 man rotation. Possibly Milum instead of Conyers, but doubtful.
  22. 1. A MAC Championship2. A couple wins in the NCAA Tournament (6 wins would be best)3. Sold out JAR
  23. This game is sort of hard to gauge. Depending on how much KD tries to get Roberts and B McKnight into the game I can see this game being a high scoring game or a rather average scoring game while the two try to gel with the rest of the team and get playing time in the rotation. With that being said, I can still see us pulling away and winning big.Zips 83NC A&T 59
  24. Sounds like we have a good shot at getting him. Since he switched positions in high school his senior year he has flown under the radar.
  25. Now that the season is over, does anyone know exactly who was redshirted from our 07 recruiting class? The names I am thinking of, but I'm not positive about are:Aaron WilliamsShane SheadMiguel GrahamBrian BrikowskiZac KasparekJerome RoyalGary PrideMatt RogersSean FobbsDa'von MoorePaul SimkovichJake AndersonJoe RashDan RonsmanMarquinn DavisDan MarcouxMatt LittleCowles StewartIf this is right, we were able to redshirt most of the 2007 class which bodes well for us in the upcoming seasons! Please add or delete names if I missed anyone.
