  1. The kid can certainly stop and cut on a dime.
  2. As I mentioned earlier in the season. If he keeps progressing, he will be our next "Jatavis"...or even better possibly.
  3. I haven't had a chance to read all the comments yet and I don't know if anyone said this yet, so I apologize if so. The one thing I can see with this team that shows we are a much better program now than in the past is this: Playing without our starting QB and starting RB and still winning would have never happened in the past. I see a lot of promise with our program.
  4. It will be very interesting to see him playing as a Zip! Can't wait!
  5. I went to the Ellet vs Field game back on September 9th. Bridges is the real deal at RB. I believe he had 324 yards and 4 or 5 TD's in that game. He had back to back 57 yard and 87 yard TD runs. I know Ellet scored something like 83 points last Friday, not sure how many yards he had in that game, but a lot I'm sure.
  6. My observations from the game. Jamal Marcus could not be blocked. VMI's huge right tackle couldn't stop Marcus at all. He was in the backfield at will...and he isn't even 100%. Gilbert is going to be a real play maker for us. He was all over the place and showed similar speed to Jatavis with his ability to get into the backfield and run down the ball carrier. Our team defense looked worse than it really is. We weren't showing anything for Wisconsin to see. Our receivers could score almost at will on VMI. I felt that during most of the second and third quarters we were merely working on different offensive schemes and plays which lead to the miscues and many 3 and outs. If you noticed in the latter part of the 1st quarter into the beginning of the 2nd quarter we scored three quick TD's in a row. The same thing happened again in the 4th quarter. Warren Ball is the real deal. We just need to sustain blocks long enough for him to get through the hole. We need work in 3 phases of our Special Teams. Our return game was below average at best, our kickoff coverage was bad and our kicking game was terrible...at least early on.
  7. I agree. I feel like this would be a wasted scholarship, but I hope I'm wrong.
  8. Looks good at stuffing the run. Seems to read plays well and has decent speed also.
  9. That's exactly what I was thinking!
  10. I really like what I see on Glover. I think with a couple years of coaching by Amato, this kid could be great! Also, aside from his big hitting capability, he actually knows how to wrap and tackle.
  11. I'm hoping 8-5 counting a Bowl win. So even with that I guess I'm under. VMI - W Wisconsin - L Marshall - W App St. - L Kent - W Miami - W WMU - L BSU - W Buffalo - W Toledo - L BG - L Ohio - W
  12. My order of preference on who I hope we can land is King, Corner, Bridges and Vantrease.
  13. Looks like he has pretty good hands.
  14. He's good at finding the creases and running hard through them and he doesn't seem to go down easily. I like what I see.
  15. Looks like a great addition!
  16. I'm 100% sure he will be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. I agree, he may not be a first ballot Hall of Famer, but he will definitely be in there soon.
  17. Strong leg...I like what I see. Can't wait to see him kick a game winning field goal!
  18. I read this article earlier, but wasn't able to put it on ZipsNation at the time. Great article. Funny how their relationship never came up before considering Benjamin was playing for the Browns.
  19. The Steelers do love to draft MAC players.
  20. Yes, I remember watching John Mackey and I agree, he was fun to watch. He was listed as "Rover".
  21. Round #3 I feel like it could be any one of four teams. Indianapolis, Baltimore, New Orleans or Jacksonville. I'm mostly leaning toward Indy because they need both an Outside Linebacker and Free Safety. Considering that a lot of NFL teams aren't sold on Jatavis being a true LB due to his size, many think of him as a possible Safety which means Indy could do some experimenting.
  22. Thanks. I missed seeing that before.
  23. Two things I notice when I look at the way they split the roster. First, it could be me, but I didn't see Pittman on either side. Is he hurt? Second, I feel that the Blue Team is geared more toward offense and the White Team toward defense. Should be interesting.
  24. Two things: 1. I can't believe Dayton is so high ranked #24! 2. Kent is near the bottom at #170!
  25. Villanova plays a similar style to the Zips, in that, they are a team of good players who know how to play as "a team". No real superstar. They also focus on good team defense like the Zips as well. This win shows that our style of basketball, with no individual star players and good defensive play, can win at any level.
