  1. I can see the organization being nasty. However, I can't see the other players being part of it. I mean the whole team, Charlie included. Did you notice how he threw so far behind players? Also, he had no comments when he left town either. Something just seems fishy. I don't agree that players would EVER cooperate with something like that, but Frye had only 2 passes that could have been considered bad, and one was blatant (the interception). The rest of the dropped passes were on the hands (when he actually had a freaking chance to throw) It was DA who was the one throwing behind. As I said, it's not a conspiracy. The players were not "in on it". It's just that the first three series were absolutely horrid (multiple sacks, dropped passes, short yardage runs) and it was the perfect opportunity to remove Charlie and leave a bad taste with the fans. I know it's not a conspiracy. I just thought of something outrageous to say. The Browns management is too dumb to come up with all those scenarios everyone has mentioned.

  3. I almost think it was even deeper than that. What I saw was a team that wouldn't block for Frye at all. Even when the he did get the pass off there were drops. It almost seemed like the whole team was in on the plan.
  4. In regard to the above note: **Commentary on Brian Kelly's attitude about the UC-Miami game.Below is the article. It is sickening! A former MAC coach with this attitude! Kelly: UC Too Big To Play at MiamiDuring his three years as head coach of the Central Michigan Chippewas, Brian Kelly relished the idea of "BCS" schools having to travel to take on the MAC. He told MAC Report Online prior to the start of the 2006 season that he could not wait for Boston College to visit Mt. Pleasant so that the MAC could play a BCS school on a "level playing field." Funny how things can change. Kelly, now in his first season as head coach of the Cincinnati Bearcats, a member of the Big East Conference and therefore a member of the upper crust (i.e. BCS) of college football, suddenly feels that his team is now too good to have to travel to play a MAC team on the road, even if it does involve one of college football's longest running rivalries, dating back to 1880. Kelly told the Cincinnati Enquirer, "We're a BCS conference. We have to look at our schedule and find out is it in our best interest to travel to a non-conference BCS school. We have to think about that. That's going to be a decision that's made above my pay grade, but I have my influence in it and I make my opinion known." Could part of his sudden change of heart be a fear of losing to a MAC school? After all, Miami has not lost at Yager Stadium to the Bearcats since 1999 and owns a 7-4-1 mark at Yager against Cincinnati since the schools started alternating their home games in this rivalry in 1996. Overall Miami owns a 59-45-7 edge over the Bearcats in the battle for the Victory Bell. "I could live with it being at a neutral field," Kelly added. Well, that's mighty big of you Coach Kelly. Strange that you believe that Cincinnati is too big to play at a MAC stadium, let alone that of a longtime rival, when schools like Minnesota, Iowa State, Kansas, Purdue, Indiana, Northwestern and oh yeah, Boston College (remember?), have had no issue with playing on the road against the MAC. Coaches from those schools, as we recall, also never felt compelled to constantly remind us that they are "a BCS conference school." "We do not want to stop the game between Miami and Cincinnati," Kelly also added. "We're not saying that at all but again those are all (my) opinions...more so than our administration. They might come out tomorrow and say Brian Kelly is full of it."We'll save them the trouble. You are full of it and have revealed yourself to be a shallow opportunist who has clearly forgotten his roots and which conference gave you the opportunity to coach at a BCS school.
  5. Hmmm, that is interesting. At least they have a good running game there.
  6. I know JD's focus this year was to correct the special teams problems from last year by taking over special teams coaching duties. It looks like we are getting better in that area, especially in the punting game as witnessed in the OSU game. Extra points and field goals still need some work, but it looks better than last year so far.All this said, our offense has really gone downhill fast. I know we have a lot of inexperience on the OL and at QB and we have lost starters and depth at WR, but we are loaded at RB I believe. This is ridiculous. I think it is time for JD to get his focus back on the offense. He is an offensive minded coach and we need him to turn this around now. What does everyone else think?
  7. As of 9:18 this morning Zippy is leading all mascots with 43 votes so far! We are matched up against Cavman of U of Virginia and are beating him head to head 43-11! Come on Zips fans, keep it up!!!
  8. By the way, DISH Network just agreed to carry the Big 10 Network earlier today. First game they will carry is The University of Akron vs OSU. I believe it will be channel 439.
  9. So he will miss the first half of the season then?
  10. According to one of the above sites, Moore and Hill have since enrolled at Hargrave Military Academy. Well, we have a pretty good name there since we have been getting several great recruits from Hargrave the past couple classes so I'm hoping we still have a chance to get both of them into a Zips uniform next year!
  11. A win over OSU definitely. You can't get more media attention than that! Seven wins including a win over OSU would put us in a Bowl game whether we win the MAC or not.
  12. I guess when we beat OSU we can look forward to lots of Zips gear sales in Michigan!
  13. Weekend pass. That would be a classic!
  14. That is the exact reason that marching band's aren't taken seriously. If you want people to watch, then play something people enjoy. If not, people will just get up and wonder around during your pre-game and halftime show.
  15. Wow. It only took just under a week after the actual announcement for them to notice.
  16. ACC- BC, Duke, Georgia Tech, Maryland, North Carolina, Virginia and Virginia TechBig 12- Iowa State, Kansas, Kansas State, Missouri, Texas TechBig East- All, however getting West Virginia would be the toughestBig 10- Illinois, Indiana, Minnesota, Northwestern and PurdueConference USA- AllIndependents- Army, Navy and Western Kentucky. Notre Dame would never come here.Mountain West- AllPAC 10- Arizona, Arizona State, Oregon State, StanfordSEC- Kentucky, Mississippi, Mississippi State, VanderbiltSunbelt- No oneWAC- AllI would obviously take any "big name" school, but I have listed the ones that I think we have a shot at possibly bringing in at some point. FYI. I think any of the western conference teams would be tough due to the distance they would have to travel.
  17. I was just going to ask the same thing! WTF!
  18. I'm surprised as well. Hopefully CJ doesn't decide to transfer over this. That's the last thing we need!
  19. Sounds like Larry will choose either Akron or BG. I found this on the Balanced Ledger blog on the Beacon Journal website. We need to get this kid to commit. He's the real deal and has excellent grades!—North senior running back Larry Dawson said he’s received offers from the University of Akron, Bowling Green State Univesity and Army. Dawson said he hasn’t made a decision where he will go, but he knows what he wants.“I want to be comfortable,” said Dawson, who has a 3.8 grade-point average. “I want to be on a team where I at least know one person. I want to be somewhere we can compete.”At BG, Dawson said he knows former Walsh Jesuit standout running back Mark Wooldridge. At UA, Dawson said he knows former Buchtel standout running back Bryan Williams.
  20. I liked what Rasor had to say about Almondo Sewell. He's already penciled in as the starter at DE, which is a completely new position for him. I knew he was going to be a great player and so far he's exceeding my expectations.
  21. I saw the same ad on the electronic billboard on Rt 8 south by the University on Wednesday and Thursday this week.
  22. Don't you think that if Roger's had already passed Hakes a week or so ago then he (Hakes) saw the writing on the wall? That's what I read into the Hakes departure and the sudden emergence of Rodgers as a possible starter?
  23. There is no way we should be ranked below #70 in the country. This guy seems to be pretty clueless. Even though Travis and Joyce were great, I don't feel like we are losing much overall with the talent we still have plus the excellent recruits coming in.
  24. The original rock is probably the size of a bowling ball. There has got to be 10,000 layers of paint on that thing.
  25. Even though we are missing some big time recruits from the past year or so which is very disappointing, I still like the looks of our current roster. We have some very good freshman and sophomores right now. Let's hope they develop into some great players. I fully expect that to happen!
