Great Job Rome. you have busted your butt to get everything you got. When things werent going the greatest for you when you got to akron, you stuck it out and pulled thru. You earned eveything that you got this year as well as last year!

This just shows how sincere he is about this program an how bad he wants to be the top school in the MAC. He is a great guy, and we are lucky to have him here at Akron, so lets show him the respect ( and the team) next year and get more butts into the seats!

I also like him going to seattle in the 2nd round. They drafted a guy from OSU by the name of Rob Sims. I personally played against Rob for 2 years an think he was the most overrated player to come out of ohio and go to the school down south...EVER! He was only rated as a top 25 guard coming out of HS because of who his dad is i think, because he sure didnt show me anything on the field. as a junior against Rob (with him trying to block me) i had 11 tackles and 2 sacks. as a senior against him (when he supposedly worked on his technique all summer) i had 10 tackles, 1FF and 2 TFL. I hope andy does go to seattle, so that he can take the starting job from this piece of junk...and show them that just because he came from the MAC doesnt mean he cant play!

Dru even mentioned it during his speech this past monday, that when he used to come to the games he would fall asleep. thats because nobody wanted to play for hipser because they didnt like him and how he used to treat them. I can thank hipser for one thing though, gettin KD on his coaching staff because had it not been hipser asking him to join, it would have been some other university asking him (KD) to join their coaching staff and we would still be stuck in the bottom, and been the laughing stock of the MAC...... so for that, i as well as alot of other zips fans thank you hipser!

Or anyone else who may know. Have you heard anything else bout the last 2 or 3 remaining recruits that we may sign? Have you heard anything bout the big canadian that you previously mentioned?

If im not mistaken. C.Jackson has a boot on his foot an has been seen walking with crutches. How can we wait to see how things unfold in spring ball if he doesnt even play. Im thinking we will have to wait until camp starts in the summer for the real QB battle to start, as long as they all can stay healthy.

has anyone thought about this as just a money game for the buckeyes. They know they will beat CSU, so why not move it from CSU to the Q where it hold more people, and they will make more money. Id love to see the Buckeyes come an play the zips, but it just wont happen because the money isnt there, and we dont hold 20,000+ like the Q will. Had CSU said we will play you but only at our place, and NOT at the Q...... we probably would never see this game.

he treated his players like crap...so nobody wanted to try anymore, there s only so much they could take and i guess they reached their limit.

it also sucked that it was on the first day back to class from spring break. I talked to a few of the female basketball players and asked them if they were going, and they didnt know anything about it because they were out of town for spring break... had it been a little later then the first day back to classes, i think that alot more people woulda showed up

I heard mack and proenze talking during the autograph portion, an they said that it was closer to 1000 people there. the lower level was pretty full, and the upper level had a good number of people in it.... an there were also people standin on the upper level end.

I seen channel 5 there, i accidently ran into the camerman as he backed up in front of me while not watching when people were lining up for the autographs lol.

when i last talked to igor, he said the trainers are working hard to get him ready for the start of the season, but didnt say anything about the spring ball. As for a kicker, if igor cant go. another kid who is going to be a prefered walk on will be here,zach campbell. He is from near by canton mckinley and he has a heck of a leg on him. he really didnt get the exposure that he should have, but its a good thing because he decided to join us. I have seen him kick in both the rubber bowl ( against massillion) and in Dix stadium ( against brunswick) and both times they were long FG's.....and the one against brunswick was very impressive, it was a 40 yarder into the wind an he made it pretty easily. But my biggest question is, Who will be our long snapper and FG snapper since the snapper we have had for the last 4 years, jason gechetti is gone. The Fg dont mean anything if we dont have the snapper to get the ball back to them.

i am in 3 of them pictures ha ha i am suprised that the local media ( wkyc,akron canton news and fox didnt cover the event. i think they should have. either way it turned out great.

I feel it was somthing very nice to send the team off with,especially the seniors rome, and dru. and a great way to start lookin forward to next year. the only bad thing that i didnt like, was that not everyone got a team picture, i know my brother, his 3 friends and I didnt get one because they ran out, and they didnt have any of the of the posters either, so i wasent able to get any autographs. but over all it was very nice, and alot more people then i expected to be there. maybe we can get some of them AK Rowdies out to some of the baseball and softball games ( if they dont go already)

Everyone shows up tonight at the JAR to support the Mens team and give them one last send off, and show them that we all support them. here is all the information in case you havent heard about it yet....The University of Akron will host a celebration to recognize its men's basketball team's Mid-American Conference East Division Championship at 7 p.m. tonight at Rhodes Arena.Admission and parking for the event are free.The first 500 fans will be receive free pizza and soft drinks from Papa John's and Pepsi. Team photos will be handed out while supplies last.The event will include the playing of a season highlight video. Fans will hear remarks from coach Keith Dambrot along with some Zips players, and the entire team and coaching staff will be on hand for an autograph session.that they will have T shirts and other fan gear that you can purchase there also.

Domonick Britt, QB, Trotwood, Ohio. Britt is 6-foot-5 and 175 pounds. He's a threat to scramble, but he also threw for 3,000 yards as a junior. Eastern Michigan and Illinois are Britt's other offers. He also has interest in Miami (Fla.), Ohio State, USC, Texas Tech and Oklahoma. I dont really know alot about this kid, but i will be doing some reasearch on him and getting back to everyone about him.Larry Dawson, RB, Akron (North HS). Dawson, at 6-0 and 200, has interest in Connecticut, Kansas, Oklahoma State, Pittsburgh and Ball State. The Zips are his only offer to this point. I personally seen this kid play a few games this year and he has all the tools that he will need to play D 1 football. he can play CB,RB,LB. I seen this kid against Akron Coventry come off of a corner blitz, blind side the QB and causing the ball to shoot in the air about 15 feet, he grabbed the fumble and weaved in and out of players on his way to a 70 yard fumble return for a TD. Very good athlete!

I have heard that he (long) is looking to transfer and will not play. He probably see's his Playing time being cut in half with the addition of Hill, and thinks it is his best move.

ahhhh gotta Love Akron Tennis how are they doing this year?

Yes he will make a damn good CB, but he would also make a damn good RB. He has proved that in HS. He played D1 at one of the toughest schools in Ohio, and played against some of the toughest teams and still was a standout and the D1 POY, and would have been MR Ohio Football had it not be for another good football, by the name of tyrell sutton.

i am going to be happy with a new stadium....but a dome would be soooo nice, it doesnt even have to be retractable... just a dome. Then you could play football,soccer,basketball on top of having concerts in it, like they do up in cleveland.this stadium could be a huge attraction for not only U of A sports, but also sports in the community. The field doesnt have to be used for High School football games..... they can seel the bowl back to the city and have the city use that for their HS games, and also the state games.

After seeing capmbell kick 40 yard FG into the wind in the state tourney at Cant State's Dix stadium...I think he has more then enough talent to kick at the D 1 level. he is also a pretty good punter too. Can he make extra points at the Rubber Bowl? i am thinking that he without a doubt can kick an extra point at the rubber bowl. he has already shown he can kick extra points, as well as longer field goals.... he has played massillion in front of 30,000 fans 2 times on the rubber bowl field.

Great job KD,Rome,Dru....... not lets everyone show up to the JAR on monday the 26th to send the seniors off with a final thank you, and show the players coming back that we are behind our zips...... and next year..NO Mercy!

they should get charlie a line...people who will actually block, give him a year an then make their choice, but you cant make a choice on him when he has .5 seconds to drop back an get a pass off....... the line in cleveland has been pathetic! I honestly have seen High School line's in person that looked better then theirs!
