Reslife4Life Posted January 21 Report Posted January 21 I don't know how many people caught it, but after the WMU game they interviewed Bowen on the radio. He brought up the possibility of getting some kind of waiver for an extra year of eligibility and Joe goes "Hopefully at Akron" and Bowen responded "Absolutely, I love it here these guys are the first ones to ever give me a chance at regular playing time" 4 3 Quote

Good player, and we'll be losing a lot as is. 3 Quote
infofan Posted February 27 Report Posted February 27 Just a quick update on our signees. RJ Jones, playing at Cle St Ignacius is averaging 17,5 ppg and 6.3 RB. Jashawn Ladd plays for Ben Davis HS in Indianapolis and is averaging 14.7 ppg, and 3 RB, and Devan Christian at Clark HS in Las Vegas is averaging 20.4 ppg and 10 boards. 6 1 Quote
HoopsFan03 Posted February 28 Report Posted February 28 I think if St Ignacius wins 2 more games, they will play regionals at the JAR. 1 Quote

I met RJ's dad at the Zip-Kent game as we were walking to the arena. Great guy. I told him that Groce recruits not only great basketball players but also athletes that are good citizens and willing to learn and that says a lot about his son. 3 1 Quote
Zippy87 Posted 2 hours ago Report Posted 2 hours ago I have no doubt after this weekend that Sharron and Eric will be ready to lead this team next year. We will need to use the open roster spots on immediate-impact transfers, but the path is there again for this team to reload and contend for 4 in a row. My biggest question is who fills Amani's role. The coaching staff seemed to lose faith in Barre, and Brisco wasn't able to push for any meaningful minutes this season. Quality portal bigs seem much more difficult to land, though. 2 Quote

I feel it's unlikely we find a 1st or 2nd All-MAC caliber big in the portal. Perhaps target a sophomore or junior who is still a little raw offensively, but can make an impact on defense. Seeing what Groce and staff has been able to do for the careers of Amani and Freeman I think would make this an attractive spot for a big looking to further develop his game. Amani's offensive production would likely need to be replaced in the aggregate. Quote
