MontrealExposloveZippy
Are we going to bounce back tomorrow against another decent mid-major?
mes102
not if it's these referees again...and if it's not, and the fouls-free throw margin is the same, ZachtheZip's theory has to be taken into consideration...makes sense... Pre-planned to have 4 schools in there...those schools probably paid them a lot to get a spot...and one of them gets embarassed at home...they win it all at the Garden, and if we would of won out, we would of been the only team without a loss in this tournament...get what I'm saying? The only problem is,if one more shot had dropped for us the outcome is different. No matter how hard the refs worked, we only needed one more shot. They can't control it that tight. mes102
I'm sorry, but the refs controlled this game. At a crucial point, Dambrot tried calling a timeout...ref was standing right beside him...instead, the ref called a jump ball, even though Abreu had clear possession when Dambrot called timeout... I saw that. I think it was Brett McClanahan on the floor with the ball. He had possession & just seemed to fall down. That was actually one of the handful of times I was wondering why Brett, and not Walsh or Harney, was on the court.
Let'sGoZips94
From this loss, we found out that OUR BENCH is weak under pressure. Our starting lineup, especially Zeke, was taken out of this game because of the refs. We could not touch them or else it would be a foul. 33-14 fouls in favor of Valpo and 40 FT attempts to our 7 in favor of Valpo. However, that being said all we needed was 1 or 2 baskets and that game is ours. Obviously we failed to do so. That is the ONLY thing I will take away from this game. If it's not for the refs, we win this game. I don't know about easily, but I think we would've won it by double digits. Zeke is a game changer, as his mom has told us many times with her ZN name. Haha. If Zeke is in there for at least 5 more minutes, it's a totally different game. Dambrot had his hands tied a bit, but IMO he was out coached. Valpo, from the start, came out and double teamed the post, taking away our athletic ability and size advantage. Their zone kept them in good shape for conditioning as all they had to do was move from side to side and jump the passing lanes, which the Zips failed to disguise. Valpo had a lot of luck on their side with bounces and such, but they executed the luck. That last 4 minutes were ugly. Dambrot failed to draw up a successful play (uncalled contact had something to do with that IMO), thus leading to a loss. Duquesne and Detroit will be tough match ups, but I believe that we can beat both of them as long as the refs do not take us out of the game. This team is good, very good; it's just early in the season and this game wasn't going our way at all. Go Zips, take care of these next couple of games and let's head into Morgantown with only a single blemish on our record.

I forgot all about that. A similar play happened early to Valpo and they awarded them a timeout immediately.

ziptrumpet87
On a positive side, the starters should be less tired and the second line has more game experience. Hopefully they can take it out on Duquesne and WV.
The Hip Zip
we're a 3 pt dog. Might have to invest my lunch money on the Zips tonight. I think they come out of the locker room breathing fire.

akzipper
I'm thinking we fall in this one. It's tough to think of them playing strong after what I saw yesterday. Might be Duq 68 Akron
Blue & Gold
I like this guys voice. I think he just said his name is Bob Baker. He sounds like a big-time announcer. Idk if he'll be any good or not, but it sounds very professional.

Quickzips
This radio guy sucks just about as much as the Zips are right now. Guess we shouldn't have got as excited as we did after MSU. 14 turnovers in the first half? Yikes. I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to listen to the second half of this. Without video listening to this announcer is painful. God I miss Frenchie calling hoops.
Zipgrad1990
Maybe the team got a big head after the first game win. They don't look good today, but UA basketball usually gets off to a slow start for their season. Lots of turnovers in this game but at least from a foul stand point no issues with the refs like last night.

Well being a NE Ohio sports fan I have nothing to be positive about. I did feel good about this team, but yes I wish I had a bad memory and I could forget that the MSU game ever happened.
