Slap on the wrist time.

If he were a Zips player he would already be gone. Read in the story that this

was NOT Moss' first brush with the law regarding theft.

This theft took place June 2nd. The players should have been involved with

"individuals" meaning they were being supervised by the basketball coaching

staff.

I wonder what Bobby Hurley would do. Moss is obviously not the brightest

bulb in the box.

I wasn't gone after my 2nd brush up with trouble, Nick Harney.

Me either, Q.

Don't kid yourself, schools find a way to keep the impact players on the roster.

EXCEPT when it is AKRON and TREE.

Tree had his suspensions prior to being kicked off the team.

Beyond that, after all the preceding, embarrassing public incidents, everyone on the Zips was on double secret probation.

Dambrot was sick of the 4am "Coach, can you come down to the police station..." phone calls.

Tree didn't get jobbed.

Good points, Cap'n.

I was just reviewing the Buffalo fan board. Many of the Bulls fans sound like Cant State fans.

Minor incident; give him more chances; slap his wrist, BUT, he did lead "us" to our first MAC

Championship. etc. Bilge water.

One Bulls fan put it in true perspective, this kid is a repeat offender who was kicked off another

team and lost his scholarship.

"If he were an accounting major from Albany, would you be saying this? UB did help this kid. He was thrown off a team and school for stealing. They gave him a second chance, a scholarship.......... I am all about helping kids, and second chances, but he has exhausted that. Again, the admin is going to wait to see what the student committee thinks about this? That is a joke. Essentially they are asking the committee to determine what are the standards of a UB student, evidently the athletic department doesn't have any. This kid is a thief, they knew he was a thief and brought him in anyway. What is it that UB owes him????"

Anything less than expulsion shows that the University of Buffalo has no integrity; sad to say.

BTW. We have some Zips fans "justifying" Moss by referencing former Akron players misdeeds.

Misdeeds that cost them their scholarships. The hammer strikes hard.

I can't find anything about Moss being thrown off of another team for stealing. The only thing I can find is an unsubstantiated rumor that Moss was involved in another theft incident at UB prior to the most recent one. If true, two instances of theft should be enough to get any player kicked off of any team at any school.

This was a misunderstanding of why Moss was released by the team as a freshman at Toledo. A medical checkup found that he had a dangerous heart condition, but even though he wouldn't be able to play UT told him they'd honor his scholarship if he wanted to stay at UT. Moss received a defibrillator implant, but UT still wouldn't allow him to play because a Toledo player with a similar condition had died during practice in 2006. So Moss transferred to a community college where he played one season and then to UB.

The unsubstantiated rumor is that Moss was involved in a minor theft at UB prior to this one and was undergoing counseling at the time of the latest incident, which was classified by campus police as a second-degree burglary.

The suggestion that the Zips were/are filled with troublemakers is both incorrect and irresponsible, as is the suggestion that players were/are consistently getting picked up by police.

Uhhh.........yeah about that.

We probably wouldn't all agree on which ZipsNation forum members are troublemakers, and we certainly don't know how often various forum members have been picked up by the police, let alone what they've gotten away with without getting caught by the police.

You are oblivious, and your reading comprehension skills were/are pathetic.

Unfortunately I don't believe there are any official ranking systems that compare all university basketball programs in the country to determine where UA ranks in terms of players who've had varying degrees of "incidents." Obviously many problems exist in other programs that we never hear about to anywhere near our level of awareness of our home team.

I'm 100% certain I am not oblivious to what goes on within the program, but I do always appreciate your condescending nature and personal attacks to someone disagreeing with you. Thanks as always CK!

News flash. 18 to 22 year old males occasionally get in trouble. Every case and kid is different and needs to be dealt with individually. In most circumstances, there's no formula like Spurrier's "three pots and you're out" rule.

As for Tree, I remember him getting in trouble in the Valley very early in his Zips career, but in any event, that's water under the bridge.

Yep, and unnamed sources add some explanation:

Justin Moss removed from UB basketball team as result of on-campus theft

... Moss already was on probation at the university as a result of a prior theft on campus during his UB tenure, sources told The News. As a result, Moss is off the team. ...

... Diane and Johnson were not on probation, a UB source said, thus were not subject to the same discipline as Moss. ...
