Read in the story that thiswas NOT Moss' first brush with the law regarding theft.This theft took place June 2nd. The players should have been involved with"individuals" meaning they were being supervised by the basketball coachingstaff.I wonder what Bobby Hurley would do. Beyond that, after all the preceding, embarrassing public incidents, everyone on the Zips was on double secret probation. UB did help this kid. He was thrown off a team and school for stealing. They gave him a second chance, a scholarship.......... I am all about helping kids, and second chances, but he has exhausted that. Again, the admin is going to wait to see what the student committee thinks about this? That is a joke. Essentially they are asking the committee to determine what are the standards of a UB student, evidently the athletic department doesn't have any. This kid is a thief, they knew he was a thief and brought him in anyway. The only thing I can find is an unsubstantiated rumor that Moss was involved in another theft incident at UB prior to the most recent one. A medical checkup found that he had a dangerous heart condition, but even though he wouldn't be able to play UT told him they'd honor his scholarship if he wanted to stay at UT. Moss received a defibrillator implant, but UT still wouldn't allow him to play because a Toledo player with a similar condition had died during practice in 2006. So Moss transferred to a community college where he played one season and then to UB.The unsubstantiated rumor is that Moss was involved in a minor theft at UB prior to this one and was undergoing counseling at the time of the latest incident, which was classified by campus police as a second-degree burglary. Every case and kid is different and needs to be dealt with individually. In most circumstances, there's no formula like Spurrier's "three pots and you're out" rule.As for Tree, I remember him getting in trouble in the Valley very early in his Zips career, but in any event, that's water under the bridge. Moss already was on probation at the university as a result of a prior theft on campus during his UB tenure, sources told The News. As a result, Moss is off the team. ......
