The T-shirt giveaway was done right. Actual sizes to pick from unlike Cavs games where everyone gets stuck with an XL. Got here 30min early and arena was pretty packed. Ton of energy in the arena. Let's handout a big asswhoopin. Go zips!

Jake and Reggie couldn't throw it in the ocean tonight...but their defense and hustle was outstanding. You could tell that they gave everything they had tonight even though the shots weren't falling. I'm glad the rest of the team helped make their senior night a special one.

THAT was an amazing victory!  Did Anyone think we could shoot 7 of 33 threes and come away with a 14 point win?!?!  A tribute to our bench, and the supply of guards we can rotate in.  Akron's bench outscored Kent's 34-15

In the first half, ESPN showed the Huggins banner hanging and talked about the young Huggy taking Akron to its first Big Dance.  The announcers missed a chance to pose the trivia question:  "Who was the Akron football coach when Huggins was coaching basketball?"  They could have then panned to the shot of Gerry Faust sitting behind the Akron bench for the answer!

Our guards did a better job of attacking the rim tonight.  We had some nice drives to the basket.  Defensively, Kent did not expect the double team under the basket and it seemed to confuse them.  In the first 10 minutes they killed us on the offensive boards but in the second half Kent had very few offensive rebounds.  We certainly controlled the second half and force them into several turnover.  Noah had a great second half and I thought made the difference in the game.  It was also great to see Jimmond score 9 points.  We will need him and Arron Jackson to play well if we are going to win 3 games in 3 days.

I heard Noah on the post game show and he is a very intelligent guy.  I give him a lot of credit coming back from knee surgery.  It seemed that his defense was much better tonight against the dribble drive.  Looking forward to the game on Thursday.

They said it's a great venue for college basketball. It looks good on TV when it's full. They did a lot of panoramic shots and didn't have to worry about avoiding empty seats. There were a few outside shots around campus as well.

Indeed they did! And like I always say, the JAR looked very photogenic on the tv set.

Here's what's funny:

We pretty much played identically, offensively, to the game at Ken+ a few weeks ago, but completely changed the result.  Ken+ scored 85 in Ken+, and could only muster 60 in the JAR.

We created turnovers in the paint.  I said this would be a key earlier.  The guards came back a lot to help, got in passing lanes, and swatted balls from their post players from a lot of different directions.  We were completely focused on the defensive end, and played with far more energy this time.  Hall was frustrated as hell, and I hope he goes to bed tonight understanding that his foolish technical for having a punk-a$$ attitude created the points that got us over the hump from a 5-6 point game into a blowout.

Last night just proved how dangerous of a team we can be. We went from 39 threes in two games to shooting 21% on 7 threes and still scored 74 points.

Also, why in the hell did we just now get the lighting system for the last game? Looked great and really looked like it added to the atmosphere.

*edit* I also want to make mention of how pleased I was of the game Ivey and Aaron Jackson played. At one point in the second half Aaron had two offensive boards on consecutive possessions.

Five ZipNation members voted the Zips would make less than 13 threes and win by eight or more.

Congrats to kreed5120, burrdie, RobotHam, zippy5 and AK-R4Life. :thumb:
