Class of '22 Verbal Commits

RB from Kansas State, who should be joining us in the summer. From what I can tell, only played in one game ever at K State. Still should have 3 years of eligibility considering the extra COVID year. Either one of Norrils or Williams are gone, or we're going to have the most capable backs on the roster in as long as I can recall, with 4 guys competing for playing time (Wiley, Price, Williams, and Norrils).

Looks like he’ll be a solid addition as he has a nice blend of speed and power. The OL he was running behind in high school opened up some massive holes and Price took care of the rest.

His yards after contact had to be huge.

On my phone, but we got a commit from Nate Thompson, a safety from Duke who appears to have been at least a part time starter.

This staff is doing work! Thompson had Power 5 offers from NC State, Purdue, South Carolina, Virginia Tech, Duke, and Wake Forest coming out of high school. I’d be surprised if he isn’t one of the starting safeties by the time the 2022 season kicks off.

The former Nittany Lion appeared in 21 games over his career. After playing in every game of the 2020 season, Whigan was relegated to a smaller role and saw the field in 10 out of 13 possible games. Most of Whigan’s snaps came in a special teams capacity.

Whigan committed to Penn State in August 2018 as a four-star recruit. He joined the team as a junior college transfer from Lackawanna College, which has been a hotbed of recruiting for the Nittany Lions in recent years. At the time of his recruitment, Whigan was the seventh-ranked junior college prospect in the country.

The departure of another offensive linemen comes at a fragile time for Penn State football. Depth issues for the offensive line have been well documented this offseason, even prompting a format change for the 2022 Blue-White Game.

Add OL Anthony Whigan to the committed list. red white and blue wow GIF by Bomb Pop
I didn’t even have a chance to add him as a potential transfer as he is listed as entering today and committing today.

Hell of a pickup, rated the #1 player in MD in 2018.

Projected second round pick comparable to mitchell swartz per 247
