Really solid basketball game for the first game of the year yet again. Shoutout to SDSU. Big fan of theirs when we aren't playing them. I like the way they play and shoot the ball. Thank you to them for scheduling Akron for a home & home. This has been a fun way to open the season these past 2 years.

Would like to see us get Freeman more involved and clean up some sloppier turnovers by our PGs, but overall cannot complain too much. Feel like we weathered the SDSU storm early on. They have shooters, but we seem to be more athletic, rebound better, and play with more hustle (especially N Johnson and Dawson).

Scott/Thornton combined for 2 points and 3 turnovers in the first half.

That is what frosh guards do best.  Not used to the speed of the college game.  Passes that they made in high school get picked off and they have to learn they cannot dribble past 3 guys.  Tavari did the same thing last year.

Fair point, but Scott is a Junior and Thornton is a Senior.

Much more confidence this year from Nate Johnson. It's a great sight to see.

Hunter is more confident.

Dawson is back and man was he missed.

Freeman is Freeman. Junk yard dawg that just produces however he can. The skinniest, lankiest grown ass man I've ever seen. So much heart from him.

Our guards have a lot of quality traits. They just need to settle into the offense more. There's confidence there, and that's the key. The Floor Generals cannot be timid.
