Is Kenni Burns done?

Kent will have to prove breach of contract for Kenni to be done anytime soon. He is under contract at $540k per year through 2028. Would be a helluva buyout at this point in time, and Kent doesn't love committing money to athletics.

I don't know if Kenni is throwing games, but it doesn't make sense for him to be $25k in debt, throwing games, and gambling on his own team. I don't know if that has specifically been alleged, but it seems to be insinuated in the accusations.

Good luck to Kent, and by that I mean HAHAHAHAHAHA SUCKS TO BE YOU!

We don't want him to leave. It's great for us that he is there!

Still there for me. On 11/15/23 Kenni wrote "My phone number has been hacked. Please disregard communication from my cell phone in the immediate future. I am working to rectify this issue. Thank You."

I saw that one. I was referring to the OP. @Blue & Goldshared a tweet from professional zip. I can read professional Zips tweet, but the account he was referencing appears to have since been deleted.

You're right, Kreed, it's been deleted. I didn't read the OP at length but Zippy5 hit on the spirit of the account 😂😭

I don’t know if there is much to all these accusations, nor do I care to see someone get dragged through the mud that may not deserve it. What I do know is he’s been in over his head as a first year head coach and seemingly has their program going in reverse.

Which is why I hope these are all false and there's nothing that gets Kent out of that contract. Hell, I hope he wins the Nobel Peace Prize and Kent extends him again for that. 😂

I think it is very likely that he still gets fired even with four years remaining on his contract. I have seen the contract and it does appear that the buyout is about 360k, not the remaining four years of salary like we are accustomed to seeing when coaches are fired (see Jimbo Fisher at TAM, who got a gillion dollars when he got canned, i.e. the entire contract's total).

360k to boot him would be the deal of the decade.

The bank eventually did get default judgment against old Kenni.  Before that ever happens, you get multiple chances to work things out.  The judgment is for $23,852.09 plus interest of 13.5% per annum.  This for a guy who makes $500K plus a year.  It's remarkable that a guy who makes that kind of money couldn't work out a $24K debt.  It's nearly as remarkable that a coach of the only D1 athletics program in a county doesn't have somebody running interference for the head football coach.   It's all a sign of something very wrong.

I have a friend that used to be a sales manager at a car dealership. He told me that I'd be surprised to hear the credit score of many of the high income earners (doctors, lawyers, etc) that have come into the dealership. Many Americans are financially illiterate. Lifestyle inflation is very real.

Agreed.  I would hope that if Groce or Morehead was in the news for financial trouble like this that some alum would step up and make some calls to work it out for him rather than leave that black eye on the school.   It's probably a sign that the entire Brimfield community has given up and Kenni and wants to see his demise.  Embarrassing across the board.

I hope not. This is the best thing to happen to Kent in a long long time. 😉

Yeah, its a dumpster fire. Kent actually signed what should pan out to be a pretty good prep class (assuming most stay). Yet the portal class doesn’t adequately replace what they lost (at least on paper). A number of the portal signees didn’t have other FBS options. Some didn’t have any other D1 options. Hard to believe the administration is giving the current crew a 3rd year.
