I think our toughest matchups in the MAC are Ball State and CMU because of the height both teams possess. Those two teams can throw it over the top of us and get what big players we have into foul trouble.

I wish we didn’t have return games to both CMU and BSU.

After those two, Miami and Ohio can get hot any night and beat anyone else in the conference, even us.

One game at a time is the only way to be.

He is a load that got tired at the end of the game. Lyles beat him down the court for two easy buckets as Zips pulled away. He looked a bit winded at the free throw line late, too.

I was surprised the Zips didn't make more of an effort to beat him down the court and try to wear him out.  Groce mentioned in the post-game how he's consistently improved as he's come into shape after not playing much at Indiana.

Zips had 4 guys in double figures, none of whom were starters. Still put up 81 with zero starters in double figures. We. Are. Dangerous.

Point still stands,  but N Johnson is a starter.

Looking at the stats, certain points just jump out.  First, the starters were throwing up bricks from 3 point distance and went 0 for 12.  Yes, I do mean bricks in that Wilson and Grey did not hit the rim on a couple of their attempts and most of the attempts were not even close.  On a great note, our point guards played 50 minutes and had no turnovers after playing loose with the ball the last 2 games.  The team only had  8 turnovers and that includes travelling and offensive fouls so I think there were only a few errant passes including one where Nate almost took out a fan in courtside seating.  Nate is really struggling with his 3 ball and went 0 for 5.  However, his inside fadeaway is unstoppable.   I thought our big guys did a good job on Sparks and yes he was winded at the end of the game and it did effect his play.  (I sit by their bench and he was sucking air when he came off the court).  Ball State shot over 50%.  Groce blamed it on the defense but I thought they were just making good shots.  Great win and looking forward to the game Sat.

This is what I get for posting this in the wee hours of the morning after quick-glancing the ESPN box score. Stupid Disney...

By the way, that Balls team lost to Dayton, at Dayton, during Dayton's prime of their season (they were so good in the beginning), by 8. I'd imagine Balls is much improved now, and Akron had the same margin of victory.
