Illini Zip
I would say you can’t shake off the choke collar if nobody really expected you win the MAC Tourney anyway.

Their issue isn't years like this one, it's the year where (IMO) they had the most talented and couldn't win it. And that's happened several times. clarkwgriswold
I don't get Toledo. They had much better talent than their record would suggest. That would point to.......Tod.

Winning 3 games in 3 days is a much different than winning a game every 3 or 4 days. Tod just keeps running it back with Toledo without adjusting, but expecting different results. In game coaching aside, his roster construction deserves the most blame. It's similar to 2023 & 2024 when Groce failed to surround Freeman with legitimate shooters; we criticized him for the ceiling that was automatically put on the team. Toledo fans aren't thrilled with Tod right now, and I bet Utah State is ecstatic they ended up going in another direction.
Illini Zip
I don’t follow pro ball anymore so I don’t know CBS Sports panelist, Roy Hibbert. After the game vs Toledo he said he really wants to work with Okonkwo in the offseason. He likes how hard he plays and his ability to draw fouls.

Hibbert was a 2-time all-star in the NBA.

We need to get Hibbert into the Wentz Financial Factory with Okonkwo and even Lyles and the freshman.

I agree, but I also don't think them losing by 10 in the semis casts off the choke collar.
Z.I.P.
Could someone tell the lady with the ZIPS cereal boxes how much Zips Nation appreciates her! I think she was there the time I witnessed the event in 2003, and every time I see her I know it's time for an @Akron Zips Men's Basketball title run! She's a true CLE tradition!! Our version of John Adams. 😄 1

Z.I.P.
FYI, there's still over 18:00 remaining in the AAC Championship game between N. Texas and UAB. Blazers lead 34-23. Don't look for a game start before close to 8:00 Eastern time.

ZipCat
Is it too much to ask that ESPN have people who know the conference they're covering do the games? Like good lord: "Mid Atlantic Conference". Did you even bother to read the press notes before getting paid to do this game?
