RoyalBlu Posted Tuesday at 03:28 PM Report Posted Tuesday at 03:28 PM Let's get this season started with thoughts of what's known, and what's to come. That 24-25 Post Mortem is hopefully done. 2 Quote
ZipsFan31 Posted Tuesday at 10:24 PM Report Posted Tuesday at 10:24 PM Let’s go!!!! So pumped to see what these guys can do. I feel like it is a 2 horse race with us and Miami. Is anyone else got the fire power to compete with us and Miami? Quote
clarkwgriswold Posted Tuesday at 11:35 PM Report Posted Tuesday at 11:35 PM It pains me to say it, but history tells us PCCC will be in the mix. The school and boosters have committed money to Mr. Pinky so they'll be around. 2 Quote

RoyalBlu Posted yesterday at 12:22 AM Author Report Posted yesterday at 12:22 AM (edited) Don't know if Kent will be there for the long haul -- too many freshmen and backcourt is suspect -- but they will be a tough out by the end of the season, no matter what. They really haven't spent much on transfers, although they have a few. Seems they have put more resources into freshmen, a couple with some A-10 type pedigree. The trick will be keeping them - if they are as good as recruitniks say. I think UMass is the team to watch. More size than any MAC team, which may offset the 3-point shooting from Akron and Miami. Anxious to see what they really look like. Also, while not a contender, hearing a lot of really good things about Central Michigan as a team to keep an eye on. After that, the usual suspects. ZipsFan31 Posted yesterday at 12:44 AM Report Posted yesterday at 12:44 AM Just about to post this about Evan. I think this is an extremely good sign. I think Evan has the chance to be glue who holds the team together Quote
clarkwgriswold Posted yesterday at 04:11 PM Report Posted yesterday at 04:11 PM I think this is BG's year. Somebody had to say it! 🤣 4 Quote

Bold strategy given their recent success, or lack thereof, with freshman. They had one quit the team last year before the season started. Can't remember the last standout freshman at PCCC. Good call on UMass. I don't care about their down years in the A10 recently. They have more money than anyone in the MAC, a better coach than anyone in the MAC not named John Groce and maybe Travis Steele, and the MAC is a significant step down from the A10 after the first few teams. 1 Quote

They are brining in a guard from Israel- https://www.beaconjournal.com/story/sports/college/kent-state/2025/10/08/omer-hamama-kent-state-university-mens-basketball-team-ncaa-signs-grant-in-aid-agreement/86588319007/?tbref=hp Quote

The fall semester started ~7 weeks ago. Is he just taking a few 1/2 semester courses to eligible for this fall (is that even an option) or is he just joining the team for the spring semester? 1 Quote

"When we came back to campus this fall, we saw a real need for help in the backcourt and were fortunate that through our contacts to find that [heck of a job on the grammar and proof reading, PCCC] Omer was available and wanted to come to the United States for college," said coach Senderoff. What a vote of confidence that is for the pre-existing backcourt. 22 year old freshman with very limited pro experience. He played in the Israel-Winner League last year: Games - 14 Minutes Per Game - 3.4 Points Per Game - 0.6 Total Points Scored - 6 2P - 1/6 (16.7%) 3P - 1/6 (16.7%) 6'3" is decent size, but if these stats are supposed to be a big improvement to what they think they already have, ooooooof. 2 Quote
