Ending a season on PKs has to be one of the worst ways to decide a game in all of sports.

Then again, you could say a lot of basketball games are won & lost by made & missed free throws..

Georgetown about to take out High Point. They have a banner on their field that they have had four Hermann trophy finalists (one win). We also have four - with two winners! And should have had three - still mad about last year!

Free throws are earned, though. This is just two teams trading PKs to break a tie.

Should have had four winners ... Steve Zakuani in 2008 as well as Emil last year. Still angry about both!

In 2008, Zakuani scored 20 goals and 7 assists over 23 games to become a finalist for the Hermann Trophy

Marcus Tracy: He won the 2008 Hermann Trophy for the nation's most outstanding college player while at Wake Forest University where he scored 13 goals and 10 assists in 24 games.

2024

Emil Jaaskelainen: Started all 21 games for Akron in 2024 en route to recording an NCAA-best 23 goals and 54 points, while also leading the nation in game-winning goals (6), goals per game (1.10) and points per tilt (2.57)...

Michael Adedokun: Led Ohio State with 11 goals, 11 assists and 33 points

Furman went up 3-1 in 85' right when l tuned in to that match.  They must have scored just before that.  Hofstra tied it with 2 goals in a minute.  I had to leave them tied after both OT's to tune in to the Zips match.  Furman won on PK's.  I was thinking of those 2 goals as the clock ran down in Akron.

If Akron hadn't been screwed by the NCAA with the Northwestern game, Zakuani wins the Hermann Trophy that year. Emil last year was inexcusable as well.

Also the lines on the Bryant field are terrible. It’s like a bowling green orange color on the green turf with football lines fading. So hard to tell where anything is

Soccer shouldn't be played on turf. The lines should make Bryant ineligible to host anything soccer related.

What an absolutely ideal day for us! Not only does St. Louis win, but they have to play an additional 20 minutes to do it!

AND traveling from St. Louis to Rhode Island back to St. Louis and then to Akron

Saint Louis went directly over to the Bryant student section to taunt them after the win. Tells me you can possibly get in their heads a bit.

Just really poor sportsmanship.  Not sure where this all started but somebody should put a stop to it.  Not the first time I have seen this conduct after a game.

Sorry but I'm not so sure about this. It seems to me that if we expect a team to endure that which fans can dish out for 90+ minutes (like that which our rowdies provide), why should we not expect players to vent for a few minutes following a road win.

Because they are scholar athletes and part of a team that should have high standards of conduct.  There is a lot of physical conduct on the pitch but after the game the players shake hands.  The game is over, the better team won, have some class.
