they started their year with a 2-1 home win over NCAA tournament 9 seed San Diego

their first 2 road games...a 1-1 tie at NCAA tournament 16 seed Furman and a 2-2 tie at NCAA tournament 7 seed Georgetown

Current Duke coach John Kerr was the star of that team.  
I think he scored the lone goal in the final.

Another prominent player on that 1986 Duke championship squad was Ken Lolla.
