Tons of tickets left currently!

Looks even worse now that season ticket holder seats have been made available for public purchase. Hopefully there's a lot of walk up sales tomorrow but I'm not confident in that. It's too bad but I'm gonna choose to focus on the game!

St. Louis men's soccer page...is previewing the big matchup....

it is cool that there are 3 watch parties that Billiken fans can attend.

St. Louis and Furman are currently tied for having the longest current unbeaten streaks.

Amazing that St. Louis won 10 national titles between 1959 and 1973.

SERIES HISTORY
-- SLU leads 8-5-1 in a series that dates back to 1960, though Akron is 4-0-1 in the last five meetings.

-- The squads met earlier this year in Akron, with the Zips coming away with a 3-0 victory. Akron opened the scoring with a goal on a penalty kick at the 33:11 mark. The Zips tacked on two more in the second half, scoring in the 62nd and 67th minute for the 3-0 final.

-- The last SLU win in the series came on Aug. 29, 2003, a 1-0 victory on a neutral field in Charlottesville, Va.

-- The Billikens' last win against the Zips in Akron was in 1989, 1-0 on a game-winner by John Johnson.

Actually, SLU leads the series history 7-5-1 and 2-0-0 in the NCAAT ('71 and '75). Time to claw another one of those losses back! We are 3-0-1 against them in the past four matches.

Since I grew up in Stow, I obviously love the Zemanski jersey behind Coach Embick in this video.

and I always love to hear @fknbuflobo tell the story about how Caleb Porter's first action as Akron U. head coach was to travel to Stow, Ohio.  Ben Zemanski had committed to play soccer for Akron when Lolla was the coach.   Caleb went to sit down with Ben Zemanski and Dan Zemanski to convince them that Akron was still the best choice for Ben's college career.   Ben Zemanski was a great midfielder and he was a building block on those excellent teams from 2006-2009.

Just learned St Louis has 10!!!! championships. They really dominated back in the day.

One might call them the godfather of college soccer.  Haven't won a title in 50 years, though. Let's make sure they stay at 10 as we pursuit our 2nd Star.

I looked up our previous elite 8 home matches to see what the attendance was at each. I didn't write them down but they were roughly 4,200 (2009), 3,400 (2010), and 3,000 (2015). What do we think the attendance will be today? For reference, last weekend was 1,344.

2k is my guess with a solid boost from the SLU faithful.

How does one watch via the ESPN app? I am not finding the game or the men's soccer team when searching.

On the app search menu type in Akron.  Or go to the soccer and it is listed.  I am streaming it now.

Figures that I can't watch it though because it requires an ESPN+ subscription in addition to my cable.

Thanks anyhow. Guess I will just follow the game tracker.

2K would be excellent given this weather. It's 33° with snow on the ground, 2 weeks from winter solstice. It's only 10 degrees warmer in Cary, NC.

I’m sensing a goal by Stefan in the first 15 minutes

With a fantastic assist I'm going to give that one to you. 😉
