Not much else could have gone wrong for us in that second half. Edited 2 hours ago by UAZipster0305 Quote
1981 grad Posted 2 hours ago Report Posted 2 hours ago Just too many mistakes!!! The own goal, the weak Pk, the red card putting us down by one, the hand ball in the box and a defender got faked out on the last goal. 1 Quote
Zippy87 Posted 2 hours ago Report Posted 2 hours ago Soccer is wild. Making one team play with one less player for 25+ minutes because of a play where the player was pretty clearly just trying to kick the ball is just crazy to me. Doesn't happen in any other sport. 1 Quote
Zippy87 Posted 2 hours ago Report Posted 2 hours ago Saint Louis has to be one of the lamest teams I've ever seen from a sportsmanship perspective. Did it against Bucknell, too. Quote

Dude, you totally jinxed us! I tried to correct it, but the soccer gods were watching and made us pay in a very cruel way. Quote
MDZip Posted 2 hours ago Report Posted 2 hours ago This one is going to sting for quite a while. Can't even imagine how the players feel. Quote
Zips Win! Posted 2 hours ago Report Posted 2 hours ago I hope the official gets depor.ted for a handball call that wasn't near his hand! The most retarded rules in sports.... Quote

Nothing more classy and humble than Barry Sanders just handing the ball to the referee. Even if it was the first time, It showed that he belonged there, not necessarily that he had been there before. I hope Georgetown has the opportunity to pound St. Louis. 1 Quote

MDZip Posted 57 minutes ago Report Posted 57 minutes ago St Louis avenged their only two losses of the year by beating Indiana and Akron in the NCAA tournament. 1 Quote
Reslife4Life Posted 53 minutes ago Report Posted 53 minutes ago I don’t have a problem with them celebrating, we would probably do the same thing. If they didn’t score that third goal what would we have done in OT? I understand parking the bus after the red card even though I hate it, but I can’t imagine what attack we would even try to drum up to get a golden goal Quote
fknbuflobo Posted 52 minutes ago Report Posted 52 minutes ago What a heartbreaking loss that was! It was all right there for the Zips to take. Much appreciation for the really good senior class! Thanks for the memories, boys! The very harsh, straight red card on Matt Dreas killed the match. 5 Quote

I'd be embarrassed of my school. Quote

malonepioneer12 Posted 4 minutes ago Report Posted 4 minutes ago (edited) Wow….a disappointing game, more like a disappointing half. I am not usually positive but if you would have told me that Akron would make it to the elite eight at the beginning of the year, I would have been elated. Soccer is a brutal sport. The best team doesn't always win. The dominant team doesn’t always win. Losing any player would have been tough but losing Dreas was a backbreaker. He is a wonderful player and is able to do some much for the team. I hated the style of our penalty kick (see my post above) but at the end of the day - if we played with 10 men for any length of time we were going to lose. It just is tough because the bracket really broke Akron’s way this year. It is so tough to win a championship in soccer. One day we will get a second star but unfortunately not this year. I have no complaint with the players today (besides the penalty kick). I just think this wasn’t meant to be. Edited 3 minutes ago by malonepioneer12 1 Quote
Reslife4Life Posted 1 minute ago Report Posted 1 minute ago The portal hasn’t been too bad for us in recent years. If we can keep most of the talent that isn’t graduating I still think we can build upon this. Maybe a new stretch like the mid 2010s 1 Quote
