clarkwgriswold Posted 2 hours ago Author Report Posted 2 hours ago I suspect Evan will have the primary task of defending Gillespie tonight. He'll be a little outsized but he's up to the task as he's one of the Zips best defenders. If Whatley is out, Amani's free to take some of that on. 1 Quote

From KenPom- "Luck, which is the deviation in winning percentage between a team’s actual record and their expected record using the correlated gaussian method. The luck factor has nothing to do with the rating calculation, but a team that is very lucky (positive numbers) will tend to be rated lower by my system than their record would suggest." Quote

Evan is the prototype for me as a representative of Akron Basketball (and we’ve had alot of good ones). Smart, charismatic, funny, spiritual, family/teammate oriented… and the dude loves country music and Major League?! Come on. Especially right before the Kent game and their decades-long history of thugs and idiots. And I don’t know who the interviewer is, but I’ve watched a couple of his across multiple sports and he’s GREAT. Well prepared but not stiff, asks great follow-ups, and puts the athletes at ease. Great content… keep it up UA. 2 Quote

I mean duh, obviously you have to account for the correlated gaussian method! Basically first grade level mathematics 1 Quote

The explanation cracks me up because it makes Miami & Kent look so much worse. Basically, Miami was expected to lose way more often than they have, despite having one of the weakest schedules in the country. Kent has been expected to lose more often despite already having 5 losses, 2 of which were to Portland (224 NET) and CMU (313 NET). When watching the games that I have of both teams, the high luck factor is very valid. I've mentioned it before with Kent specifically, but they prey on their opponent giving them games more than they actually win games themselves. Poor decision-making, poor shot making, opponents having injuries, etc. have contributed heavily to their 16 wins. Akron by a million tonight. Go Zips! IT'S 11:07AM AND... 1 Quote

Jacob (the interviewer) is a true Akron fan first and foremost, which is what the University needs to find more of as employees. Edited 3 minutes ago by Let'sGoZips94 Quote
