Very little college tape out there from a quick search, but his high school tape has him looking pretty athletic and with a jump shot. Oddly enough, he didn't make any 3s each of the past 2 seasons, but shot 37.5% 3P in 2023-24. I'm a wait and see on this one. I trust Ford, though. Edited 2 hours ago by Let'sGoZips94 Quote
Zippy87 Posted 2 hours ago Author Report Posted 2 hours ago Looks like a solid rotation big. With 6 potential open spots heading into portal season, not every one is/was going to be a high-impact player. 4 spots remain. 2 Quote
kreed5120 Posted 2 hours ago Report Posted 2 hours ago Evan Miya has him rated as the #73 player in the MAC last season and grades him as slight below average on both offense and defense. The hope would be a change in style of play and being surrounded by better talent would help him improve his numbers. On the surface not a signing I'm thrilled about, but the possibility exists that he over performs. Quote
ZippyRulz Posted 2 hours ago Report Posted 2 hours ago Hopefully serviceable with more developmentability. Ford wanting to add some size. Quote
Zippy87 Posted 1 hour ago Author Report Posted 1 hour ago Coach Ford just mentioned in his welcome presser that he is leading the recruitment on a handful of players and that one is visiting campus today. Quote
tpsjugglerdude Posted 1 hour ago Report Posted 1 hour ago Max Burton was primarily used as a play-finisher and rim-runner, while also contributing as a rebounder and interior defensive presence. Given his 20+ MPG, he projects as a high-impact role player at Akron. I'm guessing he will likely be asked to fill a similar role by setting screens, running to the rim, finishing efficiently, rebounding, and defending. 1 Quote

On the other hand Purdue was loaded so the fact he was burried on the depth chart doesn't necessarily mean he isn't good. Quote

Following the previous coach who essentially ignored the state of Indiana for any type of recruiting, this is a welcomed addition by the Balls faithful I'd imagine. Quote
