I feel this was known for a long time. Kent board seemed to know this was going to happen pretty much as soon as MACT ended.

Boals gets his first commit - Kyler D'Augustino from IU Indy. Looks like a solid guard.

The shooting percentages look nice, but it doesn't appear to have translated into much team success. It looks like IU Indy went 7-25 last year. I can't say I watched them play to know if he was part of the problem or not.

Dre Jones doesn't have to go far. Looks like he's going to Cleveland State. I think this is the first former MAC player to commit elsewhere.

IU Indy was a high octane offense at times, but they didn't play a lick of defense. Put up 93 at CSU in the 1st round of the Horizon League tourney and gave up over 100. Lost by 16 at Ohio State while putting up 102 & giving up 118.

If that $1 million revenue share/NIL is accurate then that should be a big step up for them. Ohio Bobcats apparently spent $600K this past season so that would put them ahead of that.

This coming season teams are allowed to wear a sponsor patch on their jerseys. A lot of other schools that have announced deals said they plan to largely use the funds for revenue sharing.

 

Ball State hasn't signed any deals yet that I'm aware of, but I wonder if they plan to use this as a significant revenue source to help fund the increase.

Good Lord!! Not only is college basketball turning into the G League, it’s taking a page from NASCAR. I hadn’t heard that about the sponsorship patches.

The NBA has been doing it for about a decade now. Personally, I'm hoping for the Goodyear Wingfoot for 2 reasons. First, because it's an iconic Akron brand. Secondly, I think it would compliment the jersey well without being a eyesore.

This would require Goodyear to have an interest in supporting UA athletics which a previous athletics admin told me was not the case. Hopefully that has changed because I agree about it being a recognizable, complimentary addition to the jersey.

Odds are they probably won't. I will say I don't recall seeing much Goodyear signage around Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse before they became the Cavs jersey sponsor so anything is still possible.

News to me. It shows you just how much NBA I follow. If they keep messing around with college ball it too will be unwatchable.

Providence reportedly paid Miles Byrd north of $2 million. He's a terrific perimeter defender, but only shoots .393 from the field and .305 from 3.

 

As said before, it seems there is more money out there than players worth spending it on. I'm sure this will be far from the worst overpay this offseason.

I thought I had seen Dr G has a histocal family connection somehow with GY … maybe there’s an in.
