100% agree.  This team didn't enter defeated, which is a major shift.

Receivers catching would help Broughton a ton

The wide receivers need to do a better job of receiving. It doesn't do anymore any good if you're good at getting open but can't catch.

A fumble and 2 drops in the first quarter and we are only down 10.  The defense has played well after opening drive.  Offense looks good but for the dropped balls.  We have also gotten pressure on their QB.  There is hope.

If Akron doesn't have a jugs machine, Brookhart and Beals need to be throwing fastballs to these guys for about 14 hours in practice this week.

Special teams not helping on that one.  Akron has played pretty OK here against a decent B1G team, but they just don't have room for the errors they've made.

That was great defense by 17. The catch was just a little better. Why can't our receivers do that?

If our receivers do not drop 3 very catchable balls this might be a different game.  Akron must play near perfect ball when playing a big 10 team.  Our receivers did not get that message.

This is a good point. I'd go as far as to say if Akron drops passes like this during the MAC schedule, they won't win many games. 

 

Football games are won off of turnovers, points off turnovers and big plays. I don't care if you are playing a mac school or big ten, if you can't make big plays, you can't win.
